I'm assuming Will Tischler will be starting for Loyola in place of Jaeschke. Touched 11'6 and was measured at 6'7 at the start of 18's club season. I don't know anyone else capable of filling Jaeschke's shoes other than him. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Soph. Ryan Jamison is a big athlete with a year in the program. I wouldn't count him out.

With the preseason matches starting around the country, what do you guys think the starting lineups Who is going to step up for Penn State after Aaron Russell's graduation? PSU Setter Hammond OPP Penrose / Sauter MB1 Gear MB2 Seifert/Calloway OH1 Smith OH2 Nugent L ?? What makes you think Gear will start over Seifert and Calloway? Was Gear hurt last year? Not very familiar with him. That would be great if Lee is ready! Very good player but I could see Sauter starting the year over him.

Very live arm, which was missed desperately in that position. He wasn't hurt. I'm guessing on Lee Smith but he seems to be the most athletic and complete for that position. Sauter has a tough time staying healthy. Maybe he will be at Libero? Admittedly, I'm guessing on every position except setter. Who knows, maybe a bunch of these Freshmen will bust through.

Just figured I would ask since you are one of the most knowledgeable PSU posters. Absolutely true about Sauter! Pulling for the guy! Should be an interesting team. I think they will surprise people with how well they handle the loss of Russell.

As far as Loyola goes, not only do they have to replace Jaeschke, they also lost Cody Caldwell. When he was healthy he was absolutely one of the go-to guys for them and a rock solid all around player. Even before we knew about Jaeschke leaving, I was wondering how they were going to replace Caldwell.

I think they may decide to go with experience to start the season with a guy like Novotny but I don't think they will keep the same outsides the whole year.

Cvrtlik is a frosh setter at Pepperdine. He's got the genes for vb.

You are absolutely correct. Too many names floating around, and THAT was my error.

Does anyone know which freshman might/will be red-shirted for PSU this year?
