Congrats to her ... but I think Hittle's performance was more worthy. I know we could go on and on about which performance is "more" outstanding.

three wins over quality programs: lmu, pepperdine and stanford. that's not bad for a week's work...especially the win over stanford--tough to do that especially when the opponent knows what your strengths and weaknesses are first hand. i say it's well deserved...team hitting percentage (0.266) was just ok, but that seems to be the trend this year...

I guess that makes Mandy (not Mancy) the WCC POW as well. A nice honor both for her and for Saint Marys, so far the Div. I Cinderella team. I had thought freshman Annalisa Muratore of SCU might have been named WCC POW again, with her 48 kills, 18 blocks, 4.96 points/game and .452 hitting % for the week.

I don't mind that Mandy got it. Having a sophomore lead a team over three quality opponents through solid setting and blocking is good enough for recognition. My problem is that the WCC player of the week was Annalisa Muratore, who also had a great week. Talk about a weird way to get recognition.

Actually, Annalisa Muratore was WCC player of the MONTH. Does any other conference bestow this honor on their athletes?

Whoops sorry. I should really stop posting that late. That is interesting, i don't know any other volleyball conference that does it. I know some professional sports do it but I'm not sure who else does. It would be kind of nice to have since a month is a better test of value than a single week that could range from playing Stanford to playing Idaho State(take that IB ;D)
