Fans who don¹t have tickets for Sunday¹s match-up between Nebraska and
Creighton in North Platte can see all of the action for free on the
Internet. The Nebraska Athletic Department announced Tuesday that live video
streaming of the contest between the Huskers and Bluejays will be available
for free on Huskers.com.
Those wishing to view the live stream should access
www.huskers.comand click on the match link on the Live Events right-side rollover tab. The
stream will use HuskersNside¹s innovative streaming technology to bring fans
the game in real time with voice over provided by NU radio announcer John
Baylor of B107.3.
According to NU coach John Cook, the free video streaming allows fans who
could not get seats to the North Platte match, which was sold out within an
hour of the announcement, an opportunity to see the match-up between both of
the state¹s Division I volleyball programs.
"After the tremendous response for the match in North Platte, we began
looking for other options so that more people could watch Sunday¹s match,"
Cook said. "By showing it for free on the Internet, it allows not only fans
from both Nebraska and Creighton to see the match who were unable to get a
ticket, but allows volleyball fans from around the world to see the quality
of the video that is available on the site.
The service sends video streams at 300 and 600 kbs which limits access to
high speed connections.
