I wonder why Washington didn't join Texas, Florida, and Nebraska in that pre-season tourney. I would think they would of been asked before Oregon. Were they already tied to another commitment?

I would like to see a USC vs Texas matchup assuming Texas could get by Minnesota or Washington. With the regional in Austin, I like their chances. Texas wouldn't get by either Minnesota OR Washington in a head to head, methinks. Has Ebony been ruled out for the tourney? If she plays and is even 80% of her normal self, UT could definitely beat both Minnesota and Washinton. She makes the Horns a completely different squad.

Honestly, the way the RPI falls, we could easily see teams in the double digits in the Final Four.

By giving them a lower seed for a relatively weak pre-season schedule, even though they tried to play a tough team on the road. How does lower seed = penalization? Because you might have to face a good opponent? If you enter the tournament unprepared to play the best teams to earn a title, praying for the easiest draw possible, you're preparing your team incorrectly. The seeding always sucks. You're always going to have to face a good team in the regionals. I don't think the #6 seed is a "penalty" for Washington.

If she plays now, she loses her medical redshirt. They probably just want to write off this year and come back swinging next year.

Makes sense, but with the field pretty open this year, I though JE may use her if healthy thinking the championship is on the table for the top 7-8 teams unlike most years.
