Will this be the official UH vs TCU thread or a new one will be created? Hehehe

Why? Florida? Texas? I don't see anyone standing in there way to the Final Four, unless Oregon knocks them out in the first round... Get real. For Wisconsin, beating Texas in Austin is a much tougher task than beating Oregon in Madison. Florida beat them 3-1 in Austin. Other than Nebraska, who has Texas beat? NOBODY. Last I checked Hawaii was heading to Des Moines, not Austin.

Didn't the UH basketball team was just up there in Texas? The men's team was there the 28th. Coincidently the women's basketball team plays Texas A&M on Oahu on December 4th.

Hawaii must play one game at a time. On any given day its anybody's game, at this point Hawaii jus needs to play there game. I projected this hawaii team to make it to the regional semi finals atleast, and it looks like the prediction may be true, they have a strong chance to make it to the regional semifinals. If Hawaii does match up with penn state in the regional semi's, then I feel out of all the previous years to play penn state, this would be a good time to play them, this is a year of up and downs for penn state and their not as sharp as previous penn state teams. If Hawaii can make it to the regional final, Minnesota will be a battle with Santana and the two tap sisters and a decent Libero but I believe Hawaii will play monster defense and prevail...Hawaii's 2009 national semifinalist team played two very good BIG 10 schools (Illinois in the regional semi and Michigan in the regional final) then Hawaii eventually lost to penn state in the national semi final game, so I believe Hawaii has good chances to win against BIG 10 schools. On the plus side, if Hawaii does meet up with penn state in the regional semi's then they should feel more motivated to get redemption for their national semi finals lost to penn state in 2009. I have no doubt that the defense for Hawaii will be remarkable, jus hoping the setting is smooth enough to run their very good middle attackers..Hawaii has a very good chance to win against the teams in their regional bracket.

The team left for the mainland yet? In Shoji's interview, he said they plan to leave on Tuesday, and play on Friday with a red-eye... They should have left as soon as they found out who they were playing!

In 2003, Hawaii made it to the final four. Six years later, the 2009 team also reached the final four. Now in 2015, six years later, will the Wahine continue the pattern? I sure hope they do!

Though initially I thought the last six conference matches on the road was crazy, I'm now thinking it has been good for them. Na Wahine should now be regional "road warriors"

pepper2 and others maintain that "Hawaii has a very good chance to win against the teams in their regional bracket".
Let us peek at the probabilities:
Hawaii over TCU - 75% pretty good, but a 25% chance of loosing
Hawaii over TAMU -55% not "very good"
But to get to Penn State which seems a given to many, they have to win twice!
The probability of that is .75 x .55 or .41 So it is more probable they do NOT get out of College Station (59%) to even meet PSU (who are also not assured of winning 2)
So only a 41% probability of a favorable outcome for Hawaii in College Station is not "very good" IMO.

Last I checked Hawaii was heading to Des Moines, not Austin. Last I checked Oregon is barely above .500 for the season. All they have is moral victories for playing teams "tough." I'm sure they'll get another moral victory after getting bounced out in the first round at Madison. They'll probably flex their muscle and lose 3-1 with a deuce set in there for good measure. If we asked any head coach in the country if they'd prefer playing at home against Oregon or at Texas with their job on the line, they'd unanimously choose the former.
