I see that Brian G doesn't agree with the committee. He has LBSU at #15.

The #15 team in the country left out of the tournament? Shame on the committee

Yeah, hard to believe that left out of the Tournament was the 15th BEST TEAM IN THE WHOLE (mind of Brian G.).

Venessa Jacobs completely left PSU off her Ballot............
Not quite sure that they deserve that
Edit: And she put Northern Kentucky at #19 (Yeah, I had to look them up as well, they were 14-16 this season, finished 4th in the prestigious Horizon league)

Region 1 1 Washington 8 BYU 9 Minnesota 16 Florida St.
Region 2 2 USC 7 Kansas 10 Nebraska 15 Long Beach State
Region 3 3 Hawaii 6 Colorado St. 11 Wisconsin 14 Penn St.

PSU finishes 4th in the Big Ten, gets swept twice in the past two weeks and also loses to Michigan. Meanwhile Wisconsin has dropped 2 sets in the month of November and doesn't lose a match. Yet PSU is still ranked higher Can't possibly be saying this is a surprise. Just be happy they're not in your corner of the bracket.

I've been ragging on him for the way he votes, but I actually feel kind of bad for the guy. LBSU has gone from national champs to irrelevant (at least in the eyes of RPI and the committee) and he hasn't really done anything wrong. The landscape of college athletics in general and volleyball in particular has changed, and programs like his have suffered. I imagine if he'd wanted to, he could have gone to a Power 5 school, but was loyal to the Beach. And as if he didn't already have an axe to grind against the B1G, now we find out Michigan State got into the tournament -- as the ninth team from the B1G -- and LBSU didn't. I'm sure he feels like he and his program are getting screwed.

According to pablo, Michigan State is slightly better than LBSU.
Colorado is better than both of them, though. Heck, according to pablo, Colorado is better than Creighton, and the committee gave them a #15 seed.

Wisconsin easily dispatches Purdue, who recently beat MN, yet is #10. Whatever. Wisconsin is ranked higher than Purdue. Not sure what your point is. How did Wisconsin do against Minnesota? Wisconsin has played extremely well for a long, long time, with 8 wins against tourney teams, since losing two close matches to MN, yet they have largely stayed at the same spot in the AVCA poll. That is my point.

nobody cares about this poll, the coaches don't have time to pay attention to how well the teams they won't be playing in the near future are doing.

Washington #1: Help or Hindrance?
I think it could be a help, if adding to team confidence, while still maintaining an underdog work ethos (four teams seeded higher).

Yet PSU is still ranked higher At least PSU got that gorilla off their back by beating Northwestern this time Yeah, I didn't think PSU was going to get higher than a 10 seed, and Stanford an 11. I guess conference strength really boosted them up. Not sure they were more deserving. Although, come tourney time, anything can happen.

I see that Brian G doesn't agree with the committee. He has LBSU at #15. That is hilarious. Did LBSU even make the tourney?
