I see that Brian G doesn't agree with the committee. He has LBSU at #15. For sh*ts & giggles here is Brian G's seeding for tourney.
Region 1 1 Washington 8 BYU 9 Minnesota 16 Florida St.
Region 2 2 USC 7 Kansas 10 Nebraska 15 Long Beach State
Region 3 3 Hawaii 6 Colorado St. 11 Wisconsin 14 Penn St.
Region 4 4 Texas 5 Stanford 12 UCLA 13 Florida
Seriously? He ranked his first B1G team at ninth?!?

If the AVCA poll was used to determine the 16 seeds...... as a fan would you want these as your regionals for your team? Region 1 1. Washington 8. Penn St. 9. Kansas 16. Florida Region 2 2. USC 7. Hawaii 10. Wisconsin 15. TAMU Region 3 3. Texas 6. Stanford 11. BYU 14. tOSU Region 4 4. Minnesota 5. Nebraska 12. UCLA 13. Colorado St. And let's use the poll to determine some of the other at-large teams. That puts Colorado into the tourney field where they belong.

According to pablo, Michigan State is slightly better than LBSU. Colorado is better than both of them, though. Heck, according to pablo, Colorado is better than Creighton, and the committee gave them a #15 seed. Yeah...Creighton is actually the #36 team by Pablo, and is seeded. Colorado, the #34 team is left out. But look at Marquette and Villanova in the 60's by Pablo...and UNI is at 78! Hawaii would have been #13 seed by Pablo and LBSU easily in at #37. Too bad this is the 'real world'. Btw, this week's Pablo gives Santa Clara #24 the slightest edge over Michigan #25...San Diego #20 a large margin over N. Arizona at #39. LMU #29 an underdog to Colorado State #12. Creighton (#36) should be OK for the first round over Coastal Carolina (#67), but Pablo puts UNC at 27 for the second round... I will be fascinated to see how the Pablo ratings predict winners across conferences.

How does Pablo view a Stanford-Colorado St matchup? and if it were a neutral court?

Stanford at #7 with 7230 points vs #12 Colorado State at 6905 points gives Stanford the 325 pt. edge, so they would be favored even on opponent's court ... (HCA = 186 points) . (Top point getter is Washington at 7820, for reference.)

I would say CSU's home court advantage is larger than the average HCA.

Glad the committee doesn't use his rankings, Nebraska would've been LBSU's first regional victim!

Actually, it would be USC, not Nebraska (they are on the other side of the regional bracket).

I see that Brian G doesn't agree with the committee. He has LBSU at #15. For some perverted reason I loved these "How stupid is Brian G" posts each week. I almost look forward to seeing his ballot than the the actual rankings.

Venessa Jacobs completely left PSU off her Ballot............ Not quite sure that they deserve that Edit: And she put Northern Kentucky at #19 (Yeah, I had to look them up as well, they were 14-16 this season, finished 4th in the prestigious Horizon league) While you can complain about Brian g, this is really pathetic. She really has no clue and the avca should be embarrassed by her vote.

I'm surprised at how many voters ranked Penn State ahead of Wisconsin -- 41. Only 20 had it the other way around. Granted Penn State won the head to head in the first week of the B1G season, but Wisconsin has been the better team recently.
Michael Jordan's got Penn State at 5, Nebraska at 7, Wisconsin at 10. (On the other hand, Robert Pulliza's got Wisconsin at 6, Nebraska at 7, Minnesota at 8 and Penn State at 9.)
You'd think that Kelly Sheffield would be BIK'd -- except he's got Penn State at 7 and Wisconsin at 10. Maybe he's using it as a motivator for the Badgers?
I usually think Russ Rose's votes are pretty reasonable -- although this week he moved Penn State up from 8 to 6, and Wisconsin down from 7 to 8. Getting dismantled by Nebraska wouldn't normally be a cause to move your team up, I wouldn't think.

I don't think most coaches have time to watch the matches PSU has played, and therefore aren't aware of the extent of the problems they face. All they know is that PSU lost a few but is always in the championship match in the end. They've learnt not to underestimate them. Also PSU won the only matchup between the teams, so it may seem counter intuitive to rate them ahead of the badgers even though they finished behind them.
