Will Cal State Northridge win or lost tonight against the visiting UC Riverside Highlanders? I'm gonna go with CSUN to win just by going how well CSUN has defeated and dominated UCR in the past, but I also know that UCR has improved ever since they moved up to Div I and became a member of the Big West a couple of years ago. This should be a great match to see two outside hitters shine tonight. For CSUN it will be Jen Ryan and for UCR it is junior Jamie Dikieweit who seems to be getting better every year. UCR hasn 't played a match in six days so they might be a bit rusty or rarin' to go whereas CSUN who just won two nights ago against Fresno St might be a bit more cagey. I'm on my way over - dont' want to be left out in case the match sells out. Go Matadors! [here's an article about UCR Jamie, highlander.ucr.edu/article.php?artnum=3713]

I don't follow CSUN and UCR that closely, but shouldn't CSUN be able to take out UCR without much of a problem?

That's the way the hand should play out.

I don't follow CSUN and UCR that closely, but shouldn't CSUN be able to take out UCR without much of a problem? I was pleased to see CSUN win in three solid games tonight even though the score for the last game was won by two points. In that game UCR had the early lead at 1-0 and the lead at 10-8 after they were 4-8 and then both teams kept siding out until UCR called their first time out when they were behind 21-24. It was a good call on Coach Gozansky(just wondering when she retires or if she retires, who would be the next coach for UCR?) because they tied the score at 24. Despite the change of one point leads between UCR and CSUN, the Matadors in some weird way were in control...in fact they were the better and stronger team tonight even though from what I've read about UCR having improved UCR didn't seem much of a threat. The usual seven starters for CSUN played much better and were in a better groove compared to two nights ago against Fresno St. JEN RYAN was on her A game again throughout each match and UCR just couldn't find a way to stop her, DELANEY MENELL who played in the third game in place of starter freshman KELLY ZABIELSKI was quite effective making use of her playing time, but the player who I think is getting better at her position and playing as if each match is her last match for CSUN is libero JESSIKA HAMMERICH. Tonigh she was everywhere on a touch or free ball giving great passes to setter NADINE NICKEL and whenver that happened CSUN almost always one a point. I was expecting a tougher match from UCR...dunno why and I thought that their go to player JAMIE DeKIEWIET was going to step up her game but she didn't. She just wasn't there. - by the way, to the CSUN students who came to match(nice of ya to show up) and didn't cheer for CSUN but instead heckled the UCR players - especially VALERIE BUENO and TIFFANY BROOKS(out of curiosity, why'd you pick on those two?), I couldn't believe y'all had the cojones to continue your heckling behind two UCR fans(who might've been their fathers, uncles - whatever) in game three and you let the two old geezers shut you up after they confronted you - kinda funny to see that...it's a good thing you guys didn't get more invovled with them and that we were winning - just cheer for CSUN why expend your energy on badgering the other team? I know it's fun and it's your choice to goad the visiting team - just don't get carried away

-in game three and you let the two old geezers shut you up after they confronted you - That would be "old fuddy duddys". Glad you had some fans there, VBall818. Now, you need to show them how to behave themselves! The Matadors are lucky to have you as their #1 fan! ;D
