It's a long way so don't expect that many hWaii fans at the game? Who's going? Maybe the UH band? Cheerleaders? Rainbow dancers? UH booster club? Who's who among UH former players are from Texas? I've been a fan of Hawai'i the past few years and am from Austin, Texas. I plan on making the trip to College Station and will be sitting courtside with my Hawai'i shirt on! Go Bows!!

Wahines and fans probably having some texas steak for breakfast then commute to college station? And what food is Texas known for? Blue Bell ice cream is delicious to me. Bar - b - qued brisket. Brisket is the big muscle at the low front chest of a beef. It is "smoked" for hours with smoke from a hard wood fire. Ribs prepared this way are also tasty. Chicken fried steak. A cheaper, tougher cut is pounded with a mallet to flatten it and break up connective tissue. It is breaded with a well seasoned "batter", fried in a skillet on top of the stove, then covered with a zesty white creamy gravy. So tasty but only one is allowed to a customer as some claim you can hear your arteries clogging up ? Tex-Mex. influenced by the Mexican cuisine from the border areas ( not interior Mexico) there are numerous dishes that most enjoy. Try chicken enchiladas, tacos, refrained beans and rice. I like to mix the beans and rice together as the rice can sometimes be a bit dry. Get local advice re the best places to eat each of the above in College Station. Or maybe an aggie will read this and offer advice. Have fun in Texas.

LOL......any VT Hawaii fans actually going to match?
George Bush Intercontinental Airport is closer to 2 hours to College Station because there is no direct route.
Reed is a Basketball arena, but has an upper deck which no one sits in, and the lower deck on both sides gets packed for big matches. If any Hawaii fans on the board goes to the match it will not be sold out so getting tickets will not be an issue. If you do go you need to stay for the A&M match........I am not an Aggie, but went to two of their matches and it is quite entertaining with their chants and traditions (although they tend to have to stand up, sit down, and stand up a lot and it can get tiring).
College Station is a small college town and everyone is friendly. It is nothing like Dallas, Houston, or even Austin. Most of the A&M fans beside students are older, like grandma, grandpa age and very friendly. If you want food/restaurant recommendations or directions just ask because it's like Mayberry there.
Texas is known for its Bar-b-que and Tex-Mex food. The bar-b-que is Texas style so it is beef brisket and hot sausage (but most bar-b-que places have pork too). If you like Burgers there are two pretty good places - Dixie Chicken, and Knopp Bribge Grill; both good, big burgers, and both are not far from Reed. The fun street to hang out is University Dr/Blvd/Ave and all the watering holes seem to be located in one area called NorthGate.
