I just find it hilarious that the ESPN announcers could pronounce a weird name like "Koelsch" with ease but struggle with a name like "Kahakai" which uses very simple consonant-vowel combinations.
Also, people forget that Hawaii was trailing during the middle portions of set 1. In fact, Hawaii was down 8-12 and then 12-15. They were able to take the lead by first, taking advantage of a great service run by Nikki Taylor, and second, Koelsch's net play. They were then up 18-16 and never looked back. As much as people complain about Koelsch's set locations (and I get irritated too when I see those godawful sets), Koelsch makes things happen when she's in the match.

Some questions:
1. The inept ESPN announcers said that Shoji scrimmaged against the Corbelli/Anderson 1972 Punahou team. Did they mean that Shoji had his Hawaii women's vb team scrimmage against the Punahou high school boy's vb team? How is this possible given that Shoji didn't get the Hawaii job until 1975?
2. In the stands, ESPN kept showing this young Asian girl sitting one row in front of Nikki Thomas. Who is this girl? She was hyperventilating so much from all the cheering that I thought she was going to faint.
3. Why didn't ESPN mention that Dave Shoji was also a member of the AVCA Hall of Fame, not just the Hawaii Hall of Fame? They made it seem like he's a legend on the islands alone.
4. Why didn't ESPN mention that Barack Obama attended Punahou at the same time as Corbelli and Anderson? smh
A few observations: 1. At 7-4 Hawaii in the third set, there was a scramble as both teams were out of system. Coach Laurie Corbelli was watching intently. In the end, Tai Manu-Olevao hit the ball down. As soon as that happened, you could see Laurie Corbelli's wrist go limp. It was kind of funny. It was as if she said, "I can't believe this sh*t."
2. Former Notre Dame coach Debbie Brown, who is also a former teammate of Laure Corbelli from the 1984 USA Volleyball team, was working with Texas A&M. Is she assistanting coaching now? Why didn't ESPN mention this?
3. When ESPN showed Dave Shoji stoically sitting during the match, the announcers said this is how Shoji is 90% of the time because, you know, he's the wise old man who has already given his instructions long before the match started. LOL! Umm...this is NOT the typical Dave Shoji! He's more animated. He yells and he barks and he gives girls the stink eye. I mean, the guy does not know the word "STOIC."
