I forgot and then remembered that Mormons play somewhat of a prominent role in the story. Well, their ship the Nauvoo. Mormons have such staying power, I gotta say. It seems offensive to commandeer their ship for the purposes of ramming Eros into the sun. And I'm not Mormon! The Belters later turn it into a sort of battleship. I don't remember exactly why the Mormons never got it back. Anyway, it was designed as a Generation Ship to carry Mormons off to another star system, but that turns out to be quite unnecessary by Book 3 or 4.

Yes. It gets better every season.

I think, so far, season 2 is better than season 1. I'm 7 episodes in. (To think, I almost decided to not watch season 2 because it was a chore to remember what happened in season 1.)

Finished Season 2 a couple days ago and we're now in Season 3. I think seasons 2 and 3 are so much more interesting than season 1. Never liked the actor who played Miller. Never bought Miller's fascination with Julie Mao. Some of the Belter culture was neat in Season 1 but I don't think I need more in season 2 and the show delivered on that. It's now a space opera. Great special effects. The acting isn't the greatest. In fact, I think they cast the wrong actors for all the roles in the Rocinante/Contorta but they're tolerable. I love that the show has multiple parallel storylines -- Roci ship, UN on earth, Gunny Bobbie Draper's crew, Mei, UN ship (Souther), Mars ship, etc.

Finished season 3. Great TV show. I almost stopped watching after the first season, which was good but not incredibly jaw-dropping awesome. The show gets more ambitious in seasons 2 and 3 with a lot more interesting stuff going one.
When my wife and I went out to eat a couple days ago, we saw a guy with a Mohawk and we both looked at each other and simultaneously uttered, "Belter!"

This is an amazing show. I don't know what more to say.
This is my favorite scene -probably won't make sense to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Shohreh Aghdashloo? Would. And she has 30+ years on me.
This is an excellent show and I too enjoyed the first few books. Wes Chatham is an inspired choice for Amos. He took what could be a one-dimensional character and elevated it.

Amos from the books is a complicated character. He basically regards Naomi as his personal god -- he loves her and would do anything she says, but he's not romantically interested in her at all. He's cunning and doesn't care about legal morality, but he strongly cares about protecting children and the helpless. However, he's dismissive of concern for people put themselves into a bad position through stupidity or carelessness.

I think a worse show with a worse actor would have just played Amos as a psycho tough guy. Chatham's performance gets at what's great about the character (IMO the best one in the books).

I'm mostly shocked by your post to learn that you're about my age. I always read your posts as coming from someone older.

A billion years late to The Expanse. I only got into it when it came to Amazon Prime. I take it, the books are worth a read as well?
