I sure hope you don’t get dragged for saying Tuiniga is Elite.... because she IS. That girl is a baller! But, She committed to BEACH. I think the only big time uncommitted setter from this past years SCVA 16’s is Kami. The 2020 SG setter recruit listed for Pacific is 5'8" Kendall Jensen. I’m aware

I think the only big time uncommitted setter from this past years SCVA 16’s is Kami. Miner is a 2021. For 2020 I think that Tuiniga is the only legit 5-1 high level setter in SoCal. UCLA got Pak from Vision in NorCal. Tuiniga got pulled up to the WJNT to replace Xu. I believe she was the only sophomore on the team. Who is claiming she is not elite? There are a number of very good 2020 setters in SoCal, but outside of Tuiniga they all have height/jump limitations and will be better in a 6-2. Iosia is a very good setter, but decided a couple of years ago she wouldn't be tall enough and went full time as libero. I think the only other legit 5-1 setter is Isabella Bareford from Seal Beach 16 Roger. But she falls under lacks in height category. I think she was the best setter in SCVA 16’s this year. She just committed to CAL and had offers to many big time programs.

No tea no shade just wondering why Tuaniga chose LB? Strong family connection. Her brother is the star setter for LB, was just POY and won the national championship. All of the above, plus her dad is a BEACH homer, she wants to play in front of her family and rebuild the storied BEACH program. JOY putting together a BIG time class with Tuiniga and Starr Williams following in 2021.

Couch will do well. He has the respect of the girls on the team, they like playing for him. He took over a program that had some players that had issues. He dealt with them. He deserves our support until it is proven otherwise.

Couch ( <-- I can't decide what to do with this) will do well. He has the respect of some of the girls on the team, they like playing practicing for him. He took over a program that had some players, coaches and administrators that had have issues. He dealt with them as best he could. He deserves our support prayers until it is proven otherwise. I fixed that for ya.

So which players don’t respect him? You aren't going to get names, but it's the ones who aren't sure if he can deliver (or have parents that wonder about that.) But that's more about a willingness to wait and see than it is disrespect.

This is what I can recall. Anyone have other updates? Gabby Brown is still listed as committed on her club website, but USC has made no mention of her, so I am not sure what is up. Secrist is quitting vball, right? Fitzner decommited, I think. 2018: 5’11” S - Ashley Humphreys (Laguna Beach) 6’0” OH - Siena Secrist (Tstreet)
6’1” OH - Brooklyn Schirmer (Mizuno Long Beach) 6'4" MB - Abby Hansen (Aspire) 6'0" S - Raquel Lazaro (Spain) 6'3" MB - Jasmine Gross (Pepperdine, Jr transfer) 6'2" OH - Emily Baptista (Pacific, Jr transfer) 5'7" L - Gabby Brown (Canada)
2019: 5’7” DS/L - Torey Baum (OVA / TBVA) 6’1” S - Emily Fitzner (Coast)
6'3" MB - Madison Horin (1st Alliance / Lions Jrs) 6'2" OH - Kalen Owes (AZ East Valley Jrs) 6'4" MB - Gabby McCaa (Northern Lights) 6'4" OH - Peyton Wilhite (Coast) 2020: 6'2" OH/RS - Tommi Stockham (Vegas Aces) 5’8” DS/L - Sam Hastings (Skyline) 2021 6'0" S - Elle Glock (VCN) 6'2" MB - Katelyn Smith (TStreet)

Baptista now listed on the roster. Looks like Alexis Olgard is now gone too, she was listed for a while. Replacing her is Haley Brightwell who played and coached at Missouri-Saint Louis
