The State of Hawai'i has no shortage of talented DS/Liberos, many who'll walk-on for the Wahine. K. Akana is a good get for any program though. Akana was being heavily recruited by Texas and Penn State as well. With the Iosia commitment to Texas, SC feels like a perfect place for Akana. She is a baller. If my sources are correct The WAHINE will lose out on another big 2020 (808) recruit in Ogilvie.....to Nerd Nation.

She's a very nice player with a big arm. Her sister Jessica has a great all-around game and hits a heavy ball but she has just committed to play beach at UCLA Great get for SC Katelyn is a stud, was hoping Jessica was going to end up at Stanford for Indoor and Beach. The growth of the Beach game is awesome but the downside is it’s taking a lot of the top SoCal talent to Beach only. Bitter sweet feeling lol. UCLA is stacked In the beach for YEARS! Sparks, Devon, Van Winkel, and Jessica Smith etc. Phew!

But, my guess is the Wahine will make their case. They may want her to try for OH. A bit undersized, but no more so than Granato. Restricting her opportunities to just DS/Libero seems wasteful of uncommon talent.

Best of luck to Brennan. Will this affect Peyton’s commitment to USC? So Crouch really cut her? Or with Gross and Hansen the writing was on the wall?

Great get for the Hoyas. Nice decision in her part. She knew that she would be riding the bench this year and with Horin and McCaa coming in next year she would have been 5th in the depth chart.

USC will be loaded in the middle next year. I wonder if one of the middles transfers out or redshirts

Southern Cal is going to run into a #'s problem next season. We will see how RUTHLESS the new coach is. I count 14 potential scholarships for next year. Owes P Wilhite Schirmer Lanier Baptista Lazaro Humphries Marina McCaa Horin Hansen Gross Krage LeGrand Are some not on 4-year offers? Any actually walk-ons?

It is not unheard of for USC to have highly ranked players walk-on......

Had the opportunity to watch USC’s first practice and all I could say is wow. There are so many big bombers in this team. I didn’t realize how good Jasmine Gross is. I mean this gurl can crank a ball. All I could say is wow. USC has not had this combo of middles (Gross and Hansen) since there last championship. Emily Baptista really stabilizes there passing and reminds me of a hard hitting Sara Shaw. The Spanish setter was ok. I think she just needs more reps as her location was a little off to the pins. A little bit flashy for my liking with a lot of flashy jump settings. Reminds me of a less refined Nellie Spicer. As far as the pins, Lanier is just so good. If not for Plummer she should be player of the year the next two years. The other pins (Boykin/Krage and Schimmer)seem to struggle with the offense, but it could also be because of the setting. Lastly the libero should be Meyer-Walley. My goodness this girl is a gamer as nothing hits the floor when she commands the back row
