USC is RPI 143 today. I know it doesn’t mean anything, but damn.

How many signatures would it take on a petition to get Crouch fired? Golly, I wish I was rich enough to just donate enough. This thread should be closed, there clearly is no future for USC

The two people most directly responsible for Mick's firing are now GONE from USC. One will be behind bars! Damn, didn't see that coming. Think he will change his mind if they keep winning with a backup QB? Effective IMMEDIATELY does not really make it seem like someone decided on their own to resign unless they (or a close family member) just got diagnosed with a terminal illness. Usually, someone who is "resigning" would give a bit of notice, maybe help with the replacement search etc. Help the new person transition in, all those nice things. I would think effective immediately is even more concerning when the AAD spot has been recently vacated. Did something happen in the case or a new recording turn up?

I do find it interesting that the new interim AD is the formerly retired head of compliance for USC, Dave Roberts (a really good guy, BTW) - completely bypassing the long-standing senior associate AD/COO, Steve Lopes. A house cleaning coming up courtesy of President Folt?

I think they need to stop hiring retired football stars, bring in someone with a very strong athletic administration background, and let him/her make that decision.

A house cleaning coming up courtesy of President Folt? The fact that they by-passed Steve, who is a good guy (and probably knows a lot of dirt), but is not a strong leader-type, suggests to me they're looking to do some serious damage control internal re-ordering. Roberts came to USC in the summer of 2010 as vice president of athletics compliance, and in 2017 was named winner of the National Association for Athletics Compliance’s highest award, the Frank Kara Leadership Award. In his current role, Roberts serves as the NCAA’s vice chair of the committee on infractions. “His experience, relationships and understanding of collegiate athletics, including as a student-athlete at UC Davis, make him well-qualified to lead the department during this period,” Folt said. news.usc.edu/160599/dave-roberts-usc-athletic-director-lynn-swann/

Disaster = "Let's ask the boosters of substance who they'd like to be friends with..." doesn't work so well.

Disaster = "Let's ask the boosters of substance who they'd like to be friends with..." doesn't work so well. That is literally what happened at USC. A billionaire jock sniffer named Wayne Hughes - who has donated something like $400 million to USC - wanted his close friend Lynn Swann in as AD, and the then President was happy to comply in the hopes of more huge donations coming his way.

Honestly Crouch may be having a rough time but remember only a limited handful of these girls are his recruits. That being said, he has some great talent for the future and I think in a couple years they can be a consistent top 10 team again!

If the girls who are verballed learn how much some of the current players dislike him, they may also decommit.

He'll simply run the next group of talented players into the ground.
