Sun is visiting Lincoln. Don’t count your chickens, Trojan fans. I hope she stays there. Her best move is staying close to home and teaming up with Lanier at usc. In my eyes it should have been usc in final 4 and not Florida last year. Usc was in control till some very questionable officiating. So take that and add that middle transfer they just got and sun. Usc would possibly be best team in nation.

Florida was a lot better than USC last year, you guys were actually lucky you were in the match... Can San Diego make the same argument about you guys since you barley beat San diego...? It was good match vs Florida but to say it should have been USC in the Final 4 because of questionable calls is pretty funny. You guys? First off I’m not a usc fan. Secondly, lucky they were in the match. Ok. Whatever u say.

USC scored more points, had more kills, aces, digs, and assists than Florida. Florida only had more blocks. USC dropped the first set by 2 points (25-23), then won the next two sets easily by a combined 12 points, and led 21-18 in the 4th set. How is that lucky to be in the match? The questionable calls definitely had an impact, but we'll never know the future outcome.

Reni Meyer-Whalley never left how can she be back? Does this illustrate what you were thinking?

And yes, had that match been played at San Diego, the Toreros probably would have took it. Very solid team. Really liked Picha, Edwards and Gengenbacher.

I like usc's roster for next season even without Lexi. If Krage can develope more range in her attacking SC with out SUN will be a top 3 team next year.

USC will have great talent like Texas but I don't know if this guy can actually coach. You can look the part, act the part, talk the part....................but can you coach? I guess we’ll see come this fall. However he does have great repour with a lot of D1 coaches and whenever his name is brought up in the SCVA circles every has great things to say about him as a coach regardless of the crap schools record he came out of. I think SC returns a very solid core to the Galen Center....adding some great freshman talent... This is the lineup I’d like to see OH - Lanier (STUD) OH - Krage/Shirmer (Krage has the height but Shirmer is very athletic and has an all around game) MH - Gross MH - Welch Opp - Botkin (when she finally adjusts to the D1 level LOOK OUT she’s gonna be a stud) Setter - Reni (Humphries looks promising)

Top 3 in the country? I don’t see it.
Lexi Sun will make any team better. She won’t improve USC as much as she would improve some other teams. Lanier is an average passer and Sun also average. A team needs to consistently get the ball to the setter to win big games.
From my experience passing is a skill where an athlete has a fairly defined and unchangeable ceiling. It is like Shaq shooting foul shots. He could practice 24 hours a day but wouldn’t improve his overall percentage much in a year. USC needs consistent passing. There is enough fire power. Having said that I’d take Lexi on my team any day of the week. It will be USC, UCLA, maybe USD, or some SoCal team. Nebraska visit was a nice head fake but doubtful she lands there.
USC also needs an elite setter. Baylee, how I miss you. You were my favorite player. You would be a senior this year and would have been the stud quarterback. Humphreys could grow into the role over time; not as a freshman.

Also probably why many people choose not to comment here. Also why most Penn State fans have gravitated away from VT. Passing can improve immensely up to the point where the player/athlete plateaus near their ceiling. Then it becomes very difficult to improve beyond that.

I can hear an argument that some players may have an innate ability to read situations better, but if that's the argument every skill has a ceiling. Athletic ceilings are much easier to argue for... (Height, body type, muscle composition, etc).

He coached a heavy undersog Portland team to wins over BYU and San Diego. Accidenta happen... but my belief is that he was a part of that!
