Just in line with the other threads of teams beating up on patsies, BYU defeated San Diego State tonight in an early match, 25, 29, 23. WOOO HOOO, 4 in a row! 4 in a row! I'm going to make myself some chicken katsu to celebrate now! WOO HOO! In all honesty a win is a win, and now the Cougars have strung together 4 sweeps in a row, not bad considering to open the season Rutgers took them to 5.
Oh and Lindsy Hartsock's line was 11-0-17--.647 with six blocks. Not too shabby. She's looking like a shoe in for All-MWC, and is staking her claim to be the best MB in the conference. For the week in two matches her line is 21-0-30--.700. That's in six games and she has 9 blocks to go with it. At least something is going right for BYU this year.
WAIT, we are on a winning streak! WOOO HOOOO!

Cougarize, ever heard of Katie-Jo Shirley-Cahoon? Katie Jo who? Oh yes, she's the one that BYU mistakenly passed on.

Well, if Hartsock has another good outing and BYU wins tomorrow, this should be her week to win MWC POW -- although someone from Utah might step it up. I think with just one match, the CSU players are out of the running this week, and the AFA-UNM match didn't have any crazy numbers.
Good luck against UNLV.
Now if I could just get that dang Utah video cast to work...

Now if I could just get that dang Utah video cast to work... Well Lyndsey Henderson had a great all-around match, but hitting .300 is only alright. In four games, off the top of my head she had 14 or so kills, 12 blocks and a couple of aces. Sure she might be the ugliest .... ah I won't go there. But with a decent match tomorrow, Hartsock should take MWC POW honors. She's really only starting to see her potential and is maybe at about 50 percent of where she could be. And I understand that stupid Utah Web cast. Sure the audio worked, but the announcers are just a piece of work. But I guess I can't expect too much...

Congrats to BYU!! Hopefully this can create some momentum and carry them through the MWC and possibly get third behind CSU and Utah.

Thing to consider... - Henderson gets as many sets as the Ute's outside hitters, some games even more.
- Hartsock is at about 60% of the sets that the BYU outsides get
- This list feature is nifty!
So, diregarding item 3, it's kind of hard to directly compare their hitting percentage.

So, diregarding item 3, it's kind of hard to directly compare their hitting percentage. You just helped me with a point I should've made earlier. Hartsock has improved her hitting percentage from last year as her workload has increased this year. My contention has ALWAYS been, give her the ball, give her the ball, because good things will happen. Lauren Richards is starting to learn that, but still needs to get it to her more. I would take the Hartsock of now over the Hendersen of now anyday.

I am famous for my katsu and my friends always want to eat it. And I make katsu out of anything. Chicken, pork, beef. Although I do make chicken katsu the most because chicken is cheapest.
