Here' s an interesting comparison of all WCC teams current rankings under coaches poll, Pablo and RPI:
Team AVCA Poll Pablo RPI Conference Rank
BYU 10 7 6 T-1
San Diego 12 15 8 T-1
LMU 37 63 3
Pacific 54 72 T-4
Santa Clara 63 129 T-7
Gonzaga 67 84 6
Pepperdine 90 110 9
Portland 92 95 T-4
Saint Mary's 104 145 T-7
San Francisco 266 270 10
Portland has done much better in conference than their Pablo ranking would have predicted, with impressive upsets over San Diego and BYU. Santa Clara did much worse, after losing their setter for 14 matches (their Pablo was as high as 15 in week 4.) San Francisco keeps dropping every week and is the anchor dragging down the rest of the conference. Every WCC team should be rallying for USF to get an amazing group of recruits next year and be competitive again. LMU's unfortunate loss to SCU last week drops their RPI down to 63, and Pacific's drops to 72, both almost certainly out of bubble territory for the tournament.
It will be an exciting finish for the WCC conference with almost every team involved in matches that could impact their final standing. (I exclude USF, who will finish 10th, period.)

Wow Jen Hamson's younger sister is 6-7 too??? That is one freakishly tall family. If you saw mom and dad, you would understand. The whole family is extremely tall. Interesting to see Courtney Schwan's little sister headed to Portland. Both Schwan sisters, along with Portland OH Reghan Pukis and her younger sister Hannah (a WSU commit), played HS volleyball together in Tacoma, so there's a bit of a Portland connection.

Since it is in the interest of the entire WCC that San Francisco drastically improve immediately, it's good to see they already have 3 incoming recruits. Their setter was posted in July 2015 and is still on board. She is much needed. It appears that all three have signed, although San Francisco has not put out any kind of publicity about signings. I think they need a few more hitters, as they are graduating OH Emily Reed, and it seems all their other hitters are on the floor all the time.
Andersen, Sydney Listed on: 11/6/2016 RS 6-2 El Dorado, CA Golden West Volleyball Club
Anthony, Erin Listed on: 7/23/2015 S 5-9 Sugar Land, TX Houston Juniors
Zinger, Emily Listed on: 10/30/2016 RS 6-3 Little Elm, TX Texas Advantage

Unless they decide to pick up a couple of internationals, of course.

Demots will be a nice addition. I assume they'll put her on the right next year.

San Francisco won their first two sets of the conference against Portland and then took a set from Pepperdine last week. Sounds like they are improving.
San Diego and Santa Clara are having a barn burner. San Diego is up 2-0 but set 2 went to 32-30 with USD running out of subs and leaving their setter front row.

Adamcikova looks like she is going to be carrying a big load for USF in the upcoming years. I have been impressed with her development this year. With the freshman setter coming in next year I hope that she gets some consistent sets because when everything lines up for her she absolutely kills the ball.
