Hawaii's only question is the OH1. Granato, castillo or sable will start, my money on granato. Iosia SHOULD start, but higgins won't be taken out for her You mean Sibley and not Sable. I think Sibley is ready, Granato will probably take over that position, depending on who contributes offensively and defensively right from the get go.

I'm hoping next year that UCSB will be back strong in 2016 after a disastrous 2015 campaign. Hawaii still has Taylor, Greeley, Maglio, Higgins, Koelsch and Kahakai. Long Beach State returns a bunch of starters including Barber & Hudson.

However, Long Beach St. does return quite a few starters: Barber, Murray, Grahovac, Wilson, Kruidhof, and Beddingfield all return. Also, 6'2 OH, and redshirt sophomore, Anete Brinke returns after missing the 2015 season due to injury.

As for LBSU's starters next season, my guess would be LS Barber and Kruidhof, mb Murray and Xue, rs Grahovac, libero Harward, defensive sub Wilson, serving sub Zoi, and setter Dewyer. Grahovac was too good on the right to now move to the middle and Owens is just not dynamic enough to be a starter; even though she may start the first couple of matches. Brinke was serviceable on the left last season but she does not terminate the ball as well as Kruidhof. LB State could really be a surprise this next season...do NOT count them out!

Keeping my fingers crossed CAL POLY picks up a 6'3 or 6'4 MB to solidify the defense.
Preferably, a transfer from one of those teams in the North.
GoPOLY!!!

Will Fullerton win a match? Losing streak now goes back to 2014 season.

The conference is sure to be overall better than this past year, BUT the real question should be how many teams look to be potential NCAA Tourney teams. That's what concerns me the most, as a conference would like to see the Big West as represented or if not more than other rival mid major conferences such as WCC and MWC to start. UCSB has been kind of a disappointment since their 2013 season. LBSU, UCI, Cal Poly and maybe even UCD can make some noise. Maybe even CSUN. Also, consistency among the other teams is important to take the BW as a serious volleyball conference. CSUN was ranked a couple of years ago, but Long Beach was not. Then when Long Beach was ranked, CSUN was not. I would like to see the other teams in the BW consistently be ranked in the top 25. Ideally, I'd like top 10, but slow progress is okay, as long as there's progress. I mean, outside of Hawaii, when was a BW team ranked in the top 10 to end the season?

Many new and very, very young head coaches have been hired in the BWC over the last 2 seasons. So, recruiting quality players will take so time. But, I think slow and steady progress is the order of the day. GoPOLY!!!

Who did Hawaii lose to graduation and who did they recruit to replace the loss in production (position, chance of starting)? Sorry, I'm too lazy to read through the Hawaii 2016 thread (this info is probably posted there).

Sorry, I'm too lazy to read through the Hawaii 2016 thread (this info is probably posted there). They lose their All-American middle (Olivia Magill) and All-Conference Outside hitter (Tai Manu Olevao). Returns everybody including Conference Player of the Year (Nikki Taylor).

Ruddins and Rice would be a killer OH combo for ucsb Agreed, but even they need settting. Rice has been hitting Iosia's sets, she may have to adjust her expectations. Can it be that difficult to find a setter? Dilfer who went to Pep would have been an upgrade imo. Hoping the Gauchos have someone up their sleeve.
