Eight minutes before the match. Gametracker is supposed to be alive at purduesports.collegesports.com/It didn't work last night, but the stats guys don't know why. They make no guarantees. They said they are uploading to collegesports through a phone line. I'll be on-line for the whole match regardless providing my impressions.

Francke starting for Purdue instead of Cappa. Trying to get a little size into the lineup (see the Purdue/Penn St description). OTOH, even though Francke is bigger than Cappa, she doesn't block as well for her size as she could. Still, the question is whether it is better than Gordon.

Purdue was right in it until that stretch of Gordon serves where OSU goes on their run.
Gordon with 3 kills in 8 A, but Ami Stevens with 7 kills leads the way. Purdue has Wischmeier with 5, Dargin and Francke with 4, and McConaha with 3. No blocks yet.
On to game 2.

Hope you're not spilling at the seems. Keep those back teeth floating. OK, I have now emptied the quart of Mountain Dew from LaBamba's and can take a minute to comment. A little different match from last night. Little floor defense on either side. Purdue hit .289 as a team in game 1, and 324 in game 2. However, OSU hit 600 in game 1 (19/1/30) and 415 in game 2. Gordon took over in game 2 with 10 kills. IU had some success blocking her on the inside last night, and Purdue has tried that but she has gone line successfully. Wischmeier is doing her best to keep up, hitting 11/1/21 vs Gordon's 13/1/25. Kim M with 7 kills for Purdue. Stevens and Meyer with 7 for OSU

Man this is hard to watch and type, but that is the cost of being the media, I guess. But I have to pee. You are obviously a rookie media guy. All the experienced ones hook up their catheter before the match starts so they aren't distracted. Remember that next time next time you sit in press row. ;D Other than that, good reports from the front lines.
