According to the SB Newspress, the AVP is charging a $10 admission fee each day this weekend for their event on West Beach.
Anybody ever been to an AVP event where they charged an admission fee? How do they enforce it? Do they fence off the whole beach and patrol the fence line?

How do they enforce it? Do they fence off the whole beach and patrol the fence line? The only charged for close seats in Hawaii. Then it wasn't strongly enforced, in fact, if you walked past the security guys (who were not all that strong (mentally or physically)) like you were supposed to be there, they didn't stop people. The cheap seats were free in Honolulu though.... plus, you could see over and around their blimps and fences, etc. However, having said all that. I would say it would be worth the $10. But if you're going to pay admission, stop by the information booth and see if you can get courtside for just a little more!

Admission to the event won't be the problem. Finding parking in that area will be.

Yeah, since they're on West Beach this time, people will be filling up the harbor parking lot. The slipholders probably aren't going to like that, especially since the city held the harbor and seafood festival last weekend and took up all their parking. Wonder how many nasty letters the city is going to get...

Not only is East Beach parking hard enough to find on a normal weekend, but add the travelling zoo that the AVP is to the mix and it's even worse. Oh well, West Beach is closer to the harbor. Can always mosey on over to Brophy Brothers and grab some clam chowder after catching some beach ball. Best damn chowder on the Central Coast.
