I would guess the lineup as follows: I really don't see 3 frosh in the starting rotation, unless there is some off the charts frosh coming in OH1: Barber OH2: Brinke Opp: Grahovac MB1: Murray MB2: Norveel or Xue - Lib: Wilson S: Owens is my bet DS1 & DS2: up in the air, either of Owens or Dewyer if they are not setting is possible, Kruidhof is possible if she's not the starting OH Kruidhof has to show a lot more to overcome Brinke, and Brinke has to show she can get back to form before the injury. Can't rule out Beddingfield's potential as a front-court OH if she developed since last season Can they beat CAL POLY? yes they can, can Cal Poly beat LB? yes Cal Poly brings back the best setter in the league in Nelson - but if Cal Poly wants to go to the NCAAs, they have to learn how to block effectively/consistently

My starting lineup would basically be the same with the exception of Dewyer at setter and Harward at libero. I would also have Wilson at DS1 and possibly Paulin at DS2. Dwyer and Harward may move into the starting lineup after the opening weekend or two but my guess would be sooner rather than later. I like Brinke because she has a good block and back row skills but she is a below average attacker. Plus she injured her swinging shoulder. LBSU needs some fire power from their OH2 and that is where Kruidoff outshines Brinke. I would also not be surprised if Paulin is considered for the OH2 later in the season. Owens is a serviceable setter but does not have the feel for the game or skill set for a starter on a top 25 team. Cal Poly... do they play volleyball? Who is Paulin? that's expecting a lot out of the frosh - gonna be a lot to ask of Dwyer, I hope she's the real deal it would be nice to be able to free up Wilson to play at DS, since she is a very effective attacker

Can Long Beach St., or Cal Poly, beat Hawaii? at this point, I'd say Cal Poly has the better shot, based on the players they return and setting in particular - still not gonna be easy as always, will need a great serving match to beat Hawaii

What can the other Big West teams do to beat Hawai'i this season? Well, it's pretty simple. Find one of these , close your eyes, tap your heels together three times. And think to yourself, 'There's no place like home.

And think to yourself, 'There's no place like home. So you will have a disappointing season next year as I expect LBSU and another conference foe to take a match from Hawaii. Hopefully you can get passed the unfulfilled dream of an undefeated conference season; however, I will be rooting for Hawaii and the couple of other Big West teams in post season.

it's a dissappointing conference season for Hawaii fans if they lose a set, let alone a match it's a nice quirk to have I guess however this year is a year Hawaii could very well dominate - a LOT of things have to come together for Poly, LB, or SB to challenge them but this is turning into a big West thread

Hawai'i shouldn't lose, they'll be the most talented and experienced team in the Big West this season but a loss here or there would not surprise me; it's hard to be perfect.
