The out-of-conference opponents' RPI's from last season are dismal; Mississippi Valley (334, dead last), South Carolina State (329), The Citadel (305), Grand Canyon (275), Weber State (274), Niagara (271), Southeastern La. (249), Eastern Kentucky (240), San Jose St. (229).

There my be a number of low RPI's on the schedule but 9 of the 14 opponents had at least 10 wins. One had 26 wins.
Last year Fullerton was 0-28. If they can go 10-4 in their out of conference schedule, I will happily take the improved record.
Go Titans!

They couldn't have selected a bigger collection of stiffs for their schedule.
Simple solution. Play in one tournament with three other weaker teams. One tournament with a highly ranked team, plus two pretty good teams and a third tournament with one top-20 team, one average team and a poor team. Then schedule three non-conference matches. One against a Pac-12 school and two against West Coast Conference schools (LMU, Pepperdine, USD would be good, and close for travel). This could give them potentially a 4-8 record, but a strong strength of schedule good for RPI. It would also get them ready for the Big West Conference.

But that wouldn't be better for RPI with a 4-8 record. Do the math.

I'm curious, What do you think CSUF's record will be as league starts? I am already on record saying 10-4, but I am hoping for much better. For the people not familiar with Fullerton, they graduated two starters, a middle and the setter. They also graduated a MB/RS that seldom started but contributed at the end of the season. They recruited two setters, one middle, one DS's, and two outside's.
