It's official...this conversation has Jumped The Shark. 2 posts, nearly a year apart, both attempting to end threads discussing Rick Butler. Welcome, updawg!

Go look across their rosters and you'll find SPRI coaches listed as chaperones who did not attend Nationals. Which has nothing to do with the subject you are trying to derail, which is that Rick Butler is not allowed to coach and if he coached boys at a summer USAV event in great lakes region (per dukesbeachhouse claim) that he did so illegally from the position of chaperone. I understand it's a very popular thing to do to pull out the old "you're derailing the conversation!" card but maybe simple linguistics can explain this for you. If a question is asked, ask with the expectation for it to be answered. If a fact is stated and it is incorrect, expect it to be corrected. If you ask a leading question or state something incorrect that leads away from the main discussion point and you get ruffled by answers and corrections then I'm sorry, don't talk. In an issue that heavily revolves around facts and timelines and laws, and in such a sensitive and important issue, facts matter. A simple "I stand corrected" or even no response is easy and 100% in your control.

You did bring up the chaperone point in your post. People are clarifying. Is that a bad thing? Based on the USA Manual, I believe that rosters are locked in AES some time in June. Mostly likely just put on rosters, so they can enter the teams before the March registration deadline. Chaperones can be updated on the day before competition starts and changes will not be reflected in AES. They were not there based on people posts, so a moot point I agree.

Sounds like more coaching can be done from the stands rather than on the bench as a chaperone. Perhaps he will retreat to the stands in the future. I did some of my best coaching and reffing from the stands.

To be very clear, YOU said that he was coaching at a USAV boys event. From your post somebody who didn't know better could infer that USAV ALLOWS him to coach, WHICH THEY DO NOT. Rick Butler may not be listed as coach for a USAV event. He may be listed as a chaperone and sit on the bench, but from that position it is illegal to coach. That was my entire point, and the reason why I listed the USAV rules and interpretation.

A simple "I stand corrected" or even no response is easy and 100% in your control. I asked you no question at all, let alone a leading one, and the post wasn't in reply or in reference to you. You answered duke's question. When you said "They were not at USAV Boys Nationals" I thought you meant SPVB, I now realize that you were referring to Rick and Cheryl Butler. You and duke displayed a level of familiarity with the two of them that I didn't expect. I stand corrected on that.

When I hear the word "chaperone", Rick Butler does not pop in my head. Probably not the best title for him. I can think of a few other appropriate titles, but I will resist the urge to spew them from my keyboard.

Go look across their rosters and you'll find SPRI coaches listed as chaperones who did not attend Nationals. How'd they do that? At girls nationals the chaperone is required to be there. They even request photo ID. Are you suggesting they lied or cheated? --Have the designated Chaperone review and fill out the CHAPERONE FORM and attach a legible copy of a photo ID showing date of birth. Turn this form in during your team check-in at the tournament.

If this is Odin posting the above, why do you feel the need to legitimize your thoughts by adding your administrators name. VT host many controversial topics, such as gun control etc, why does this one warrant your inclusion?
Also suggesting people are using VT as a coping mechanism( I have read your earlier post) is a little insulting. This is a serious concern in the Volleyball community, and the greater youth sports community. Raising public awareness, pointing out vile behaviour is not a coping mechanism. It is a way for people to collectively show their support for the real victims here, and ultimately get this pedophile of the streets.
After all, it sounds like the traditional means have been pursued, resulting in basically nothing being done.
Thank you, and have a nice day.
Here we go again...I will try to explain in plain words so you can understand. Obviously, you spend most of your day on this website. Just because I made a post people assume that I am a SPVB or Rick Butler lover (maybe not the best choice of word, I put this explanation in because every word I write will be analyzed like I'm being vetted to be the next President). If you actually read my post history not in this thread (I'm sure you know how to do that since you have plenty of time on here (I will apologize for this later)), you will see that I am critical of the SPVB program. I don't appreciate the judging and bullying of posters like many on here like you seem to be doing as well. So I tagged the Norse god Odin. Who I guess is a moderator or administrator. I explained this in a later post on this thread. Obviously, you must have shot at the hip and posted this kind response above. I apologize. I must be putting words in your mouth or making a snap judgement. Why have traditional means not worked? That is the best question. News articles don't work. Online articles don't work. ESPN/OTL doesn't work. An attempted injunction doesn't work. What is the name of the group that protests all the funerals? Westboro Baptist Group. Or maybe protest like individuals at the political conventions. Maybe not burn the American Flag even though that would be your constitutional right as an American citizen that the Westboro Baptist Group would protest at a US Solider's funeral who gave his life fighting to protect. Gotta love the USA. Feel free to continue to analyze my words, make snap judgments about me, bully me, insult me, and the list goes on. At the end of the day I only care about one individual's judgement. Thank you, have a nice day, and God Bless. Apologize for the delay in responding, spent most of my day at the HP Vball in Ft. Lauderdale, then took my wife to dinner. I am having trouble determining if you are a child posing as an adult, or an adult trying very hard to seem clever. Your tangents leave me undecided. Nonetheless lets proceed as if you are an adult.
I stand behind everything I have said in regards to Rick Butler, and would like to offer my boot up your ass, once I am through with him.

I respect that. And threats and violence are always the answer. Should we set up a time at the bike racks? I applaud the wonderful staff we having coaching in our USAV High Performance Program.

So it is not Illegal for him to be a chaperone. So why did you bring up that point? What a fantastic question! You being new to this whole situation and all, you probably didn't realize that when you saw Rick Butler on the sideline at a USAV event, he wasn't actually coaching. bot4life is a stickler about correcting this kind of mistake, so I just wanted to give you the heads up that he was the chaperone, not the coach. Chaperones are not allowed to coach, or their team is required to be penalized. It's a funny story really, I'll have to tell it to you some day. It involves a trusted mentor of young girls who turns out to be a serial rapist over a period of years, then hilarity ensues! I have an inside source that says it is on Adam Sandler's desk right now. Can you hear everybody laughing?

I wish the tubes from my computer to the interweb were long enough to get an email to Great Lakes! Maybe you could just ask old Rick buddy next time you see him?

I was there and he was not.
