We have two good teams! I think if we get our passing down, Texas will be hard to stop. From what I've seen, Carlini and Haggerty are Wisconsin's X factor.

I agree, the badger serving is nothing like what Texas faced in 2013. That team could serve other teams off the court. It was needed considering the relatively small block the badgers put up that year. What I know of Texas serve receive comes only from what Texas posters have been saying this preseason. I haven't seen them play once. My sense is that the problems are overstated, except when they crop up in some matches. The yips spread like wildfire when they show up. So how do we get back to that? Why has WI serving been less of a focus since 2013? or perhaps it didn't lose focus, but execution not as dialed in? The latter. Targeted and aggressive serving has always been the objective. I believe the execution has not been dialed in, and some of our stronger servers have graduated or suffered injury. One player who had a really strong serve prior to injury was A-Mac. She was our best server before hurting her wrist. I believe our serving has the potential to get much better this season if they put some effort in to make it more consistent. Dodd and Bates and Haggerty all have serves that have been particularly damaging to opponents at times and erratic at others.

Haggerty has? Granted, I've only seen two matches, but I thought in those matches she was doing the Gillis moonball.
Thanks for bringing up A-mac. I forgot that she had been so stellar last year. I agree, it was likely her wrist issue that caused the decrease in effectiveness. Has she been serving much this season? (you'd think I haven't been paying attention, but I have - but just radio.
Wish Kriskova could keep the ball in. Nobody does the jump serve anymore and that alone could be disruptive.

Haggerty has only done the moon ball a couple of times. She is standing way back behind the line when she serves.

Am I the only one who believes WiScoNsiN will win in 3? Living in Dallas, I get to see Texas play. Despite bleeding ORANGE, I am a realist. Texas has not been playing consistently, and their Middle Hitters are more like Missing Hitters. Wisconsin has the edge, good coaching and Carlini. I think Texas is a year away from being dominant. Until then, I'll just enjoy watching them play.....and take notes. Hook'em Horns
