Any uta volleyball fans out there. What is Coach Seymour doing to that program. Been following them for years and I know one thing, if you are from Arlington you are definitely going to play. Never mind. I think I get your deal now.

Great Point. UTA wins in the conference were against teams with a total record of 43-87 and overall records of 86-172 5 of the 6 losses were to the top 3 teams and the 6th loss to a team with record of 6-10. Conference records for the top 3 teams 43-5 and overall 72-23. Against the top 3 teams in the conference they win 2 sets and loose 12. Way too much talent in the state of Texas not to compete with the top etchelon of the conference.

With that logic, 200 head coaches would be fired every year in DI Volleyball.

I know the result, what is behind that decision? Doesn't the PSAC have some crazy thing with the union that after 5 years it becomes really hard to fire the coaches, so unless you are really good, they just let you go to protect themselves? I feel like we've seen that in previous odd moves from the PSAC, like Lock Haven. But Dan (Lock Haven) was there for five years. I think LH let him go because he tried to leverage his success into resources for his team and heaven forbid you try to advocate for your program and stir the pot. If that was the case then coaches would be getting axed left and right over at LH. I feel like ESU is a similar story. AD to self, Hey the program is in an upswing, let's shut that down before they start asking for money I would hate to give BB or FB less.

Really did you watch game yes arkansas state is good but the team did not show up to play on home court.Just long time fan no pony in this race I did not watch the game. Teams lose at home. Teams win on the road. Teams have bad days. Teams have good days. Coaching is just as any other line of work. Some days are better than others. I don't understand why we as the public feel a need to call for coaches' jobs. Perhaps if the rest of us were in the public eye with a randomly loyal fan base, people would want us to be fired too because we didn't file documents properly or unload the truck fast enough. I would add that someone filing and unloading a truck have direct control over the success of those tasks. Coaches are limited in their ability to affect their outcomes. The school they have to sell, the resources they offer, the talent they have to choose from. People critical of success often forget that there lives at stake. People's children. The cavalier attitude people take with that just because THEY THINK there should be more success with all their breadth of coaching experience or because their snowflake didn't play as much as she thought. It's insanity.

I feel like this thread is turning into a "Who should be gone thread". Can we keep this a jobs thread? The Hot Seat thread is a good place to voice your opinion on who needs to go.

I feel like we've seen that in previous odd moves from the PSAC, like Lock Haven. Relevant? Huh? not making the playoffs again makes the program relevant? Looking at the school roster, it seems like there was a huge amount of turn over. Very few seniors not he roster in any year. Lots of freshman each year, and then not much retention. For anyone wanting that job, buyer beware. It's not an easy program to improve. After 5 years (this was her 5th) she would have gotten a 3-year contract.
