Got it through a friend of a friend who once knew another friend, etc. Ha
May 7th, Hutington, CA May 21st, Austin, TX June 11th, NYC, NY June 25th, Seattle, WA July 9th, San Fran, CA July 23rd, Hermosa, CA August 20th, Manhattan, CA September 3rd, Chicago, IL
Thoughts? 8 actual AVP events so it grew. No word on prize money, I think they will all be 24 team draws, could be wrong.

I like that these events are somewhat compact and close to each other, but there has to be a serious expansion at some point right? At least 15-20 events?
Does anyone have any idea what the goals were for this year's schedule and what may have happened or been needed to get a mor robust schedule?

Goals: Grow the game. Don't go bankrupt. Requirements for more robust schedule: More profit per tournament.
You may substitute 'Any' for 'More' depending on the tournament.

Goal in terms of when Donald sat down and said "here is what I want the schedule to be and think I can achieve" what did that look like. Was 10 events the goal? 8? 20? With regards to more events, clearly Donald is willing to lose money, my question is more about why 8 money losing events? What would have meant more? Maybe a large sponsorship? More municipal support? I wonder why the AVP doesnt just run half price events at California beaches or maybe Florida during complementary weeks. Im sure a half price event would still draw almost everyone, at least the guys that dont play internationally. Maybe even that is a money losing proposition, but I wonder.

AVP has been officially announcing the schedule one stop at a time in recent days with most of the schedule announced here now: avp.com/events/So far the initial poster's schedule has been spot on. And does appear 8 stops is the plan. With FIVB Long Beach date still to be confirmed, I wonder if it's being considered as host for world tour finals which is supposed to be Aug 22-27. That would appear to fit nicely between AVP Manhatten Beach and Chicago events too.

How do AVP rankings work for international players? Can they reach the main draw without qualifiers?

How do AVP rankings work for international players? Can they reach the main draw without qualifiers? Int'l players can't play...unless grandfathered in...Possibly.
