I was reading the results of the 2016 AVCA survey that had responses from 56 schools with beach programs. According the to results, 13 schools are fully funded with 6 scholarships and another 15 schools offer less than 5 scholarships. Keep in mind that beach volleyball is an equivalency sport, so these scholarships can be dividing among many players. Many schools have indoor players receiving full aid on their beach roster.
The number of beach players receiving aid in 2016 grew by 52% from 2015. More than 3x as many women received beach aid last year than in 2013. This is good to hear especially in at a time where many athletic departments are cutting programs and funding, most notably at public institutions. Beach volleyball is a relatively inexpensive program to run, so I expect to see more schools add programs to satisfy Title IX.
213 women (out of 363 beach-only athletes) divvyed up 111.5 equivalency grants. This implies the average aid is about a bit more than a half-scholarship for those that get any money. If one considers any offer for aid to be "serious recruiting", that sounds like more than 50 (and growing) beach-only athletes are recruited each year. Anyone want to guess how many full-scholarships are offered?
I'm trying to figure out which schools are the full funded ones. Here's the final 2016 Dig Collegiate Volleyball Poll:
1. USC 2. Florida State 3. UCLA 4. Hawaii 5. Pepperdine 6. Arizona 7. Georgia State 8. Stetson 9. Long Beach State 10. LSU 11. Grand Canyon 12. North Florida 13. Florida International 14. Tulane 15. San Francisco 16. California 17. St. Mary’s 18. New Mexico 19. Florida Atlantic 20. South Carolina
Others receiving votes: TCU, Washington, Nebraska, Loyola Marymount
Anyone think other than #1 through #13 are the fully-funded schools with 6 scholarships? Do Stanford, Arizona State, College of Charleston, Santa Clara offer some aid?
If you are curious, maybe you can compare the indoor and beach rosters and figure how many beach only athletes each school has. I'm guessing there's a strong correlation between the number of beach-only athletes on the roster and the number of scholarships in use.

Stanford definitely offers scholarships, and I think as of this year, they may have the full 6.

It sounded like they're adding them gradually until they hit 6, but didn't have a specific timeline. I think USC/Florida State/Pepperdine have 6? Not sure anyone else does right now.

Per the AVCA 2016 survey, 13 schools used 6 scholarships for the 2015-2016 season. 12 schools that were not fully funded plan to add more funding within the next 2 years. So within 2 years, you could have as many as 25 schools fully funding or more if new schools go in full throttle.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I'm pretty sure UCLA and Long Beach State aren't fully funded, of the top 13. I'm not sure Arizona is yet either. Honestly I was surprised by the results on that poll. Edit to add: Now that it's an official NCAA sport, I'd expect more schools to fund scholarships over the next few years.

With the budget cuts in California, I wouldn't surprise me if UCLA, LBSU & Cal weren't fully funded.
So if you take the top 17 from the poll minus those 3 schools, you think those are the 13 schools? It USF & St Mary's fully fund, I would suspect LMU, Santa Clara and UOP would too since they are in the same conference and have similar athletic programs.

If UCLA isn't fully funded, they're very close to it. LBSU is nowhere near fully funded, nor are Cal, St. Mary's, USF, Santa Clara, LMU, or Stanford. I don't know about Pacific, but I doubt they have many schollies to hand out.
Fully funded - USC, Pepp, Hawaii, Arizona, Florida State, TCU, South Carolina, FIU, North Florida (I think), Stetson (I think), Tulane...probably Georgia St...maybe Grand Canyon.
And the number of kids on a full ride is a small handful.

I'm surprised a full 13 are fully funded with scholarships. Is there anybody playing in USC's league as far as resources overall go?

Florida State probably has at least an equal budget, if not bigger, compared to USC. South Carolina, TCU, Tulane are putting a lot of money into the sport (they haven't seen the results yet, but it's early). UCLA, FIU and Arizona as well. Pepp and Hawaii aren't cheaping out either.

Texas A&M Kingsville signed a few girls to beach scholarships (one girl locally here in the Northwest). Texas has the weather for the most part, wouldn't be surprised if more add the sport in that state. Currently I know of TCU, Houston Baptist, Kingsville, Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi.. but I don't know whether Corpus has signed anybody.

Not sure what the 2017 situation is.

At any rate, there are currently half a dozen or so players on Hawaii's roster getting some level of scholarship money, including at least one kid on a full ride.

Texas A&M Kingsville is fully funded with scholarships and is building a new outdoor sports complex with 6 competition beach courts.

But I'm not embarrassed to say I have no idea where Kingsville is located. Edit: Ahh, down by Corpus Christi. And they're the Javalena's, which is an awesome mascot.
