I felt this topic worthy of its own thread. This has to be on the minds of just about every coach in the country. I will start by ruling out a few names that I don't see going for it: John Cook, Jerritt Elliott, Russ Rose, Jim McLaughlin, and probably Hugh McCutcheon. (Also safe to say Tom Black will not be in the running).
So, who are the top potential candidates remaining. Agree or disagree, here are some names that came to mind in no certain order.
Kelly Sheffield Kevin Hambly Mary Wise KBB Ray Bechard Geoff Carlston CJL Mike Sealy Joe Sagula
I might have missed one or two, but I was also trying to keep it to a list that Stanford would consider. Thoughts?

Karch. He's the most obvious. Hugh did the same thing remember

Karch. He's the most obvious. Hugh did the same thing remember I thought of him, but personally I don't think that is the route Stanford would take. I would be more willing to bet on them hiring a long time college-established coach.

If not Karch, I think they go after Hugh pretty aggressively. Sagula's not going anywhere.

Salima, Hugh, Karch or Hambly would be great!

Salima, Hugh, Karch or Hambly would be great! I would rule out anyone without HC experience.

Now that you mention it, this might be Salima's moment.

Hambly didn't even make the tournament this year. Considering his resources and being in the Big 10. Doubt it

Salima, Hugh, Karch or Hambly would be great! I would rule out anyone without HC experience. Why is that? I think Salima is more than qualified. Mike Sealy is also a great fit.

In another thread I said I could see the following being considered. Beyond that, yikes, I don't know.
Keegan Cook Kevin Hambly Erin Appleman
