According to LinkedIn, Angela Rock has become the head beach coach at St. Mary's College (California). Not on the Gaels' website yet.
She has a new book out on coaching beach vb.

Great news. I have fond memories of Angela and KK v Carillo/Masakayan when I first got interested in the women's game. Later on she and Liz - both somewhat diminished - were an interesting team.

Good luck! Lindy Vivas did not so well at UW, but she did leave a great team intact for another one (Buse) on the way down to Central Ca. I don't think that it was that great a "fit".

Yeah, Kirby & Rock were great. Just checked Angela's career in BVBDB, and see she actually played with Masakayn her first pro year, 1987 (4 events for a whopping $450). This is from WPVA Santa Cruz 1990: Santa Cruz WPVA

Congrats to Angela! Used to play with her many years ago at an open gym in HB and she was humble and patient with all levels of play.

She always seemed to be such a class act - good for her! And Guest2 and I are both thrilled that they hired a woman coach instead of some stinky boy! :-)

You don't know Angela. I used to live, love, and laugh in SD. Firemen get really stinky too.

Im pretty sure they were also starting outside hitters for the 1988 Olympic team - they were definitely both on the team. Just the sort of big hitting defenders that the US needs more of now.
