A little more than a month until actual competition starts so might as well get started with the predictions. Here's how I see it:
1. USC 2. Pepperdine 3. Hawaii 4. UCLA 5. Florida State 6. Long Beach State 7. Arizona 8. Stanford 9. Stetson 10. Nebraska
Hard to not make this heavily favorited in the west coast as so far they seem to be the dominant for beach volleyball.

Are these preseason predictions or end-of-season?
Here's how I think it'll be when 2017 is over:
1. USC 2. Pepperdine 3. Florida State 4. UCLA 5. Hawaii 6. Arizona 7. Georgia State 8. Stetson 9. LBSU 10. Cal
Just curious..Other than adding KP and coach Fuller, why do some of you think Stanford is going to go from mediocrity to Top 10?

Well basically predictions of the end since we assume this is how they'll be ranked for the year. I put Stanford up there cause I feel they will improve, you are right of them being mediocre last season. However, I don't fully know about many of the east coast teams but I know some of them lose some good players. Stetson for example loses their top pair and a few others.

I'd be surprised if an exhibition of div. ii teams aren't played at the Nationals in AL.

USC Hawaii Pepperdine UCLA FSU Arizona Stanford LBSU Stetson GSU
Stanford has lots of indoor players and Plummer has proven to be a force on the beach. With all their height they could be a tough match-up for some of the teams.
I don't think UCLA will be as good this year (even though I have them at 4, I don't think they will be as competitive).

Yeah, I am curious why everyone is picking Stetson as top 10 (except Geddy knows whats up). They did not beat a single team that made the tournament last year, lost half their starters, and their assistant that had sand experience left. Furthermore, they are playing a tougher schedule this year. I'm guessing their record will be around .500

I think Stanford is a big question mark. Having a full-time dedicated coach (Andrew Fuller) will be a big help.
We'll have to see how the tall indoor players do in the sand. They have six beach-only players also, but none of them seem that highly touted.
Plus Plummer. So top ten seems plausible, but hardly a given.

It is not hard to go from mediocrity to top 10 in Beach, especially compared to indoor. There are only about 50 total teams, so half them are "top 25". And about 1/3 of the teams are new, way underfunded, or just the indoor team playing. Having a quality beach coach gives them an advantage over most schools. The players will improve and learn advanced techniques. KP also makes everyone better, as almost everyone else on the team will now play at a lower flight against weaker competition. Top 10 may be another year away, but would not be a shock this year if they stay healthy. They will be better than last season.

Pretty sure CAL POLY will come out much improved.
At least they will have the largest roster in the country,...23 players. First time coach Rogers has had sand-schollies on the team.
