Thomas Jaeschke hasn't seen the court in the PlusLiga since his return to Poland, but he has made some Champions League appearances.
Today he subbed in the first set and played the rest of the match as an opposite in a 2-3 loss to Berlin. He finished with a 19 kills, 3 aces, 2 blocks, and hit 0.448. He had more aces than errors.
It will be interesting to see if he gets more time on the right side, or if that was just because Schmitt was not dressed out.

I think its really tough for him to get time at left side right now because of how well Perrin, Roussard and Ivovic are all playing. It does hurt that he was not there for half of the season, but he played an outstanding match last night and was really impressive against a solid Berlin team. Im not sure if Resovia will resign him for next year? Any word on that or is that still up in the air?

Is he also passing as an OPP? That could be deadly.

www.cev.lu/News.aspx?NewsID=24851&ID=5BERLIN claim Match of the Week, MODENA and Zaksa rally to fifth straight win 2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men Luxembourg, February 14, 2017. Azimut MODENA and Zaksa KEDZIERZYN-KOZLE made it five wins in as many matches they have contested so far in the group stage of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men following their respective victories over PGE Skra BELCHATOW and Noliko MAASEIK on Tuesday night. However, the most exciting match was the one featuring BERLIN Recycling Volleys and Asseco Resovia RZESZOW, with the team from Germany’s capital emerging victorious after five sets to secure their progression to the Playoffs 12. The BR Volleys edged Poland’s standout Asseco Resovia in an enthralling five-set match 3-2 (25-20, 25-22, 21-25, 20-25, 15-13) in front of 4,308 spectators at Max-Schmeling-Halle. “We are – of course – very happy about this win. This will raise our self-confidence, which is necessary for the upcoming months,” their head coach Roberto Serniotti already anticipated the matches ahead, but also praised the team of Resovia: “How they performed in reception and block was an example of how you have to play. But our team did a fantastic job, as my players gave everything they had and put in their minds and hearts!” “We faced huge difficulties to control Jaeschke in the fourth and fifth sets and what’s more, we could not pressure Resovia with our service as we did before,” BERLIN team captain Robert Kromm (with 14 points best scorer of his side) said after the match. 6'10 Gavin Schmitt is going to be tough to replace. He fought through some injuries last year and leading up to the Olympics if I remember. Even though he is retired from the National team at 31 he still has some tread left. Thomas is what, 22/23? He has tremendous upside and performances like this only demonstrate his flexibility and worth. To do it on a stage like this also has to help with his marketability. Love reading about this stuff.

He didn't have any passes in the match. I have only read the stat line, but plan on watching it tonight. If he gets more experience on the right will he be someone who can keep Anderson on the left when he plays with the NT?
Mind you this is jumping the gun a lot, but still something interesting to think about. We don't have many opposites playing in good leagues this year.
