Six of the top 7 + LSU (10) and FIU (12) will be playing in Manhattan Beach next weekend.

Ouch! Probably a good idea that the finals are held in Alabama.... Best result for the East was FSU going 2 and 2, however Cal Poly was one of their wins. FIU and Georgia St go 0-4, LSU 1-3. Stetson was at least in paradise when they lost to LMU and Hawaii. This weekend FSU gets USC and Hawaii in Honolulu.

FSU lost twice but they were both 2-3 losses to Pepperdine/UCLA. UCLA has lost to Pepp/USC but also 2-3. So I think that cluster of teams is really close. Hawaii gets FSU/USC soon, so we'll see where they are in the mix quickly.

USC, Pepperdine, UCLA, Long Beach, and maybe Hawaii have a shot at the title, but there's a huge drop after that. There needs to be more Universities on board. A number of good coaches are available, so lets hope this sport really hits the road. The way USC is going with recruiting, they will be on top or very close to it for a long time.

I think FSU is in contention for title also, having beaten LBSU + Hawaii and pushed other top teams. LSU seems to be improving dramatically, but that is all for East coast. GSU and Stetson seem to be regressing from past years. Perhaps FIU or FAU will step up this season or in future. Any new teams will need a few years to catch up.

I think USC is in a class by themselves with the second group being Pepperdine and UCLA. I believe the top 6 are slotted correctly in the national poll. The only flip flop could be Hawaii and LBSU after this weekend, but there is a big drop off after the top 6.

C&H seem almost unbeatable at the college level. SH plays so much bigger than 5'10". I think you can only beat this team by redirecting first-ball contacts back over into the open areas or optioning even if you won't get a great swing as their blocking/coverage defense is better than any other team and SH in transition has power and shots. They sideout too easily, so you have rip it on serves.
If SC has a weakness, it's probably w/TC&NM. TCs ball control & off-block/peeling defense needs work and NM makes a lot of hitting errors.
JD is going to be something special. She just dominates. I could see her being their marquee player the next few years.

So, maybe you can use names instead of initials so we know who you are talking about.

Poster is writing about USC, it only takes a second to pull up their roster to see which players are being mentioned.
Nothing worse than "telling" someone how to express themselves, imho.

It's all good.
I just don't want to call them out by name when I'm giving my unsolicited, layman's criticism. It wouldn't be fair for search engines to pick up there names associated with "poor ball control" or "lot of hitting errors."

Actually, it takes way more than a second. First you would have to google the USC web site. Then, find the volleyball page, and click on that. Then, find the roster page, and click on that Then, go through the entire roster to see whose name fits the initials. In other words, about 10 times the amount of time it takes to read the post. Of course, all this is in my humble opinion.
