Gozde played just as much as Hill in CL play last year, if not more. That's just false. Hill started every set in the Final Four, Playoffs, and both group stage matches against Eczacibasi. Gozde started the group stage matches against teams that were not threats. With one or two exceptions, that was how the Turkish domestic competitions worked out too. I went back and looked and I guess you're right about CL. Group Round game 1 - Gozde starts Group Round game 2 (AGAINST Ecz) - Gozde starts Group Round game 3 - Hill starts Rest of games, Hill started. However, you're completely off about Turkish League. Vakif's A-team almost always had Rasic, Sloetjes and Zhu as their 3 foreigners. Against Fener: Against Besiktas: Against Ecz: 3rd Place Turkish playoffs against Ecz: Hill came on to serve and occasionally replace Sloetjes or Gozde. I remember thinking the move to Italy was good for her because she was riding the bench so much during the year.

I went to check the stats and in her first season (2014-2015) Hill did not start in the most important CL games, Anne Buijis was the starter. And even in the Turkish League Hill was not part of the main roster, she would only play against the weaker teams.
In the playoffs of 6 against Vitra GAME 1 she was only a sub to serve and she did not play at all in GAME 2.
In the semi-final Buijis started, Hill replaced her in the 2nd set and ended with 14 points. She started in the Final game. And from there she became a starter for the Turkish League Finals.
Last season Hill only started in the semi-finals against Galatasary because Rasic got injured.
This is Robinson first season....and not second.

What is happening to Kelsey Robinson at Vakifbank? If you follow her on social media you know that she is all-world when it comes to entertaining self-promotion. But what seemed to be a click-in replacement for Hill for the OH2 spot and a repeat of Vakif CL gold does not seem to be happening. To date Gozde continues to start in CL play, Krob did not even get off the bench in their most recent match. A team that Vakif easily defeated. Krob watchers know that she has the personality and style to project Larson like leadership skills she just can’t seem to grow her game enough to create the gravitas to get there. Vakif will face a stiff challenge this year in the CL playoffs with the aging Gozde as Zhu’s side kick rather than Hill. Can Krob reprise her stellar last season play for Imoco or has she taken a step to far? Kelsey has started as the L1 in 12 of Vakifbank’s 21 domestic league matches and been subbed into five other matches thus far. In the team’s most recent Sultanar Ligi match, she played as the L2 and led Vakifbank in points, so she has actually started in 13 matches. Of these 13 matches, she has led her team in double-digit points six times and placed second in kills three other times. Gözde has started in nine domestic league matches and pool play of the CEV CL this season.

I wonder how her contract covers that. Does she get paid for the rest of the season, or only the few weeks she was there?

From what I understood, she is not out of the team...but was cleared to return to the USA until next season starts...the season is almost over anyways, so in practice, I think this means she just gets to come home a month earlier than usual

especially that she has to remain in Poland for treatment. Hope she heals soon! Lets just hope someone from her family makes the trip to stay with her while she gets treatment.....I have no idea how much she is making in her rookie contract...but lets just hope its enough to live confortably and have someone with her
