AVP said it's not injury related...family matters.

They have seem to have forfeit a few matches on the avp. Hope it's nothing serious.

Another bad result for Claes/Hughes. Looked average against Fopma/Reeves and then went out in 7th to Caitlin and Heather. Meanwhile Ross/Sweat skunking the 1 seeds. I think Brooke is always going to be better against players she sees a lot but this was brutal. Nice to hear Todd on commentary

Claes looks to me like she has regressed a little. Maybe she is just going through a bad spell.
Taylor Crabb has one of the livest arms I have ever seen out of a little guy. He absolutely hits the $#!+ out of it.

Another great match between Santos/Chalk Brunner/Patterson. I can't help but root for Ricardo I love the way he plays the game.

I can't help but root for Ricardo I love the way he plays the game. Spend hour with him, and you'll change your mind. But that doesn't lessen the fact that he's been really freaking good for a long time.

I don't know if it's just his build or his body positioning but he reminds me of Randy Stoklos when he blocks.

I don't know if it's just his build or his body positioning but he reminds me of Randy Stoklos when he blocks. To be fair, I haven't been around him in probably ten years, so he may have matured and/or mellowed. But man, he was an arrogant jackass. His partnership with Emmanuel back in the day was odd in a way - the most universally liked player on tour and the most universally disliked player on tour on the same team.

I don't know if it's just his build or his body positioning but he reminds me of Randy Stoklos when he blocks. He looks a lot like Stoklos in a lot of stuff he does. Earlier he pointed to the ground after blocking Brunner and he could have been doing an impression. This has been an incredible day of games. The upsets, Zaun and Ratledge, having Tri on commentary with a lot of cool behind the scenes stories has been fantastic. Also I dont think I quite understood before how good Schalk is. Too bad he is stuck playing for Canada.

geddyleeridesagain good point about him back in the day. Prick. My son talked with him at an EVP event maybe a month or 2 ago, had nothing but good things to say.. We all get better with age right? Perhaps just a bit of the "just happy to be here" type stuff, but maybe he is more mature now. Still a competitor at heart, just not a prick anymore, lol..

Ross/Sweat did their thing and killed it v. Claes/Hughes....Shouldn't be any questions about their finish in NYC . . . These last couple of finishes for Sara & Kelly do not surprise me at all. This is not college anymore. They are playing against some of the best that the USA have. Not the world besides April, but just the USA. It will be interesting if they take their time & learn & grow together or if they feel they will need to split at some point before 2020 for individual progression. Will be fun & interesting to see. I am slowly jumping on the Summer & Brooke train. Just don't have both feet in yet. Why on earth did they skip the first two AVP tournies?
