Yeah, he's not doing bad (just don't tell Guest2) but he does have an error. He has Mike Brunsting and Chase Frishman has the #1 Q team, and that is wrong. It's Priddy/McKibbin. It foils 2 stories he tries to tell.
Actually he has all the men's seeding wrong.

"Throughout American beach volleyball history, there have been perhaps two legitimate rivalries: Sinjin Smith and Karch Kiraly –- do yourself a favor and watch the quarterfinals between the two in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics –- and Brazil and the United States."

I laugh at some of the BS he spins, we know when he is wrong.. I just like putting the spotlight on the Qs.. the struggles 90% of the teams go through just to play on a weekend..

One of the best things I ever read in the old VBM was the qualifier/bottom feeder story about Lance Lyons/Jim Nichols/Mike Schegel etc.

This is the truth. If you want to try to F with a writer, nitpick one of the 500 fantasy football writers out there. Don't go after the one guy that wants to really dig in and write about beach volleyball in an interesting way.

[/quote] I dont think its nitpicking to object to the statement that there have only been two real rivalries in beach volleyball history with neither being Smith/Stoklos v Hov/Dodd - you know the rivalry that built the sport's popularity. If an NBA writer did an all time top 10 without MJ, I imagine he would get crucified. This is the same level of error. Not getting the seeds right is just sloppy and the article about last tournament had similar glaring factual errors. VB magazine is a niche publication for hardcore fans, some basic knowledge of the history of the game and some fact checking is not too much to expect.

Could have been the case, or maybe he was sloppy.
