I didn't get to watch the NYC AVP tournament finals. Can I start with "I support the ball handling rules as called today" but can the refs, etc. just stop saying that they aren't calling spin? I watched the Stafford Slick call in the finals. They showed it from 2 angles, I watched it in slow motion and there was no double contact. The ball came out with a 12 to 6 spin and they rightfully made the call... on spin (and if it was double hit the spin would not have been a 12 to 6 spin). Let's stop the charade, call the double if you see it doubled AND call it if it's spinning.

Ball handling rules are awful as they are. So much is let go that big oafs with giraffe hoof hands regularly take balls with their hands. Players who should be bump setting are back setting and throwing balls all over the place. It takes a lot of skill out of the game. I'd love to see a huge crackdown on handsetting. The game was more interesting when fewer players could handset
