What Zaun needs is a partner that can side out. His hitting percentage in Seattle was 600 and he went 0-2. I looked at the stats from this year and ALL OF LAST YEAR and no other defender has hit 600 throughout a full tournament even once. He also sets butter and was ranked first in aces in Seattle. The kid has a reason to be frustrated. Dude, he hit .600 for 2 matches, and same for aces, he had 4 aces. That must mean he isn't good defensively, as he is ranked 12th in digs!! If you look at NYC, (a full tournament) He was middle of the pack in Aces (11 games, 3 aces) His dig average was...Ok, bottom half of the top 10 (with 6 games played or more). Hitting % was excellent, + .500, as compared to other defensive players. These other defensive players are getting many more transition swings than Eric, which will bring down anyone's overall hitting % for example, Zaun played 11 games, had 31 digs. Casey played 10 games, had 49 digs. 19 more digs, which means more transition attacks. Priddy had 28 digs in 6 games! and hit nearly the same as Zaun.

Heard of possible pairing of Burik and Lorenz for San Fran That would probably make sense for both.

What's gonna be interesting is when Riley McK comes back, betting Ty & Marty hook up then.

I don't know if ya'll are watching Zaun's all-around game, but he isn't very good defensively. He isn't natural by any means and he doesn't make very many plays outside of the one's he should. He has plenty of time to get better at that, but IMO he isn't ever going to be among the better players in defensive play. He can make up for it offensively though much in the same way Patterson does.

I think switching back after one event is a mistake.
Lorenz definitely has more potential than Ed and if he is a better long term option then go with him unless Eric is desperate for money. Not sure what Eric could have seen in that one event that justifies this.
He and Marty had half a dozen game points against Reid and Ed and if they won would have finished 7th, they were not beating Taylor or Stafford or losing to Samuels. Not nearly enough there to make an informed decision. Also Eric should look in the mirror a little for the loss to Ed/Reid. Its not a coincidence that Ricardo picked up Reid rather than Eric.
Teaming with Ricardo is a great move for Reid and he has an excellent chance to get his first win here

I think Priddy is better right now. Obviously for development nobody would look past Zaun but for one tournament. Priddy has a serve that not even Zaun has and can get them really easy points, may be interesting with a blocker like Ricardo if teams can't stay in system with Priddy's serve and it's a bit windy.

Reid is getting better each week, substantially.

Lots of comparisons between Zaun and Priddy and I like them... I love watching them both play and they have similar qualities. I think Priddy is getting better and better every day and I hope he gets a win in SF (also because I am rooting for Ricardo). As I am able to understand the comparisons between them and realize Priddy has a learning curve, the reality is Reid is one of the best VOLLEYBALL players the US has seen since Karch

Because not even close if your talking about beach. No way I'm rooting for Ricardo over an American team

I'm sure he is talking about volleyball in general, and yes Priddy is one of the best, especially if he can make noise in outdoor. He is getting better in Beach literally every tournament as well.

The Bomgrens have changed their minds and are now playing the San Francisco event. With their recent bad play they are in danger of being back in the qualifiers. So they are hoping for an improved finish with all the teams that are going to be missing.

Not stoked on playing at the Foundry. Have heard it is very shallow.
