As a history nerd who loves sports history, and obviously beach volleyball, I was wondering if there are any good biographies/autobiographies out there on the game. I know Gabrielle Reece and Misty both have one, but does anyone know of any more?

You should just get the Sands of Time Triology…1,344 delightful pages of history, details, and stories about the games creation all the way through the peak of the AVP. It also contains nearly 2,700 pictures for the illiterate beach volleyball fan, or those who are just too lazy to read.

If you like reading about volleyball and you like biographies then the NCAA Volleyball History book on Amazon has stories on the main beach stars that played indoors and all of the great coaches, plus the history of NCAA women's beach. Even though the book is about indoors, there is so much feature info about beach players like Kiraly, May-Treanor, and many others across the country.

P.S. if you follow the indoor game at all NCAA Volleyball History is the only book that has features on the four major retiring indoor coaches--Dunphy, Shoji, Dunning and Gimmillaro.

go girl, by the aussie Cook was a fun read. Thanks for the heads up! On that note, does anyone also know of bio's from non-US players out there? I've always been interested on how the beach system looks like in other countries.

go girl, by the aussie Cook was a fun read. IIRC, Go Girl is more motivational than biographical, although there's some of that as well. Nat is one of my absolute favorite people in the sport. Big personality, great sense of humor, and a no-bulls:@t attitude.
