Pretty sure a blind woodchuck could tell you there's Phil and everyone else, nothing new to report there.

Yeah last 2 events nick has played really bad. I hope it gets turned around soon. Maybe he's just tired or fatigued

I know Nick's had a busy summer with new addition and all but he doesn't looked fully dialed in this season which is frightening considering they still win tourneys. That said, would/could Phil switch partners at some point before Tokyo? Wouldn't surprise me much.

There used to be some suspense in AVPs because Phil often didnt seem to care, but even with Nick plying poorly, a sort of motivated Phil is just too much for these guys. He would never go back but I'd be curious to see how Phil and Rosie would do now

I will admit Rosie had looked really good last 2 tournaments and good all year but it's the Avp not the fivb. Most of the tournaments Not many if any of the top teams where there. When nick plays good I would take him over Rosie as of right now on the fivb.

Everyone points to Phil's size and skill as his best attributes, but his will to win is up there with the greats. You know after the score hits 18s, he is going to make an impact. BTW, loved Richie Lambourne in the both with Tri. He had some good lines, and loved him ripping on the raiders. "Shellbacks won't be too crowded if Sean wins, because half the raiders have the alcohol monitoring anklets on.." GOLD!

We don't tend to disagree on much but Phil might be the last US player I would characterize that way. I think I have seen 20 matches Phil lost where he looked like he could have cared less. Most notably last year in Toronto I think he and Nick lost a game 21-4 or something and seemed to be doing competing Dana Camacho impressions. Likewise his loss this year with Roberts.

Sorry, I'm not going to let a tournament playing with Adam. No he didn't lose one in Toronto 21-4 last year. I'll remember Beijing, the Manhattan's and some others where Phil took it to levels no one else has. In big tournaments, in the big moments, Phil produces.

BTW, Do you think Phil doesn't like serving the FIVB Mikasa?? He jump serves the Wilson on the AVP, but mainly float serves on the FIVB.

It wasn't 21-4, I remembered that wrong, it was the match to Poland where the Poles let up, but still killed Phil/Nick. It should have been 21-4 though. Of the top guys, I think Phil takes more embarrassing losses like that than other guys. Big matches I agree he shows up and can be impossible to deal with, but when I think will to win, I think of Karch consistently destroying the competition, or Sinjin being as good in NY as he was in Manhattan to quote Mike Dodd. Phil I think often lets down. I think we were just using different definitions.
