Entry list is up! avp.com/event/manhattan-beach-open/2017-manhattan-beach-open/Jake and Taylor are #1 seed. Billy and Stafford are #2 seed. Phil and Nick are #3 seed. Except I think the points are wrong. Phil should have more points because he played with ARob in Seattle before. Ricardo is playing with Reid. Chaim playing with Marty. Bomgren bros and McKibbin bros playing.

Quick takes:
- Watch out for Lorenz/Chaim (shocking, I know) - Olson swooping in and grabbing my future all-star Cook, nice - Poor Burik, stuck with Roberts, two defenders, zero blockers - Wild cards screw bunch of teams, Brunsting/Samuels & Olson/Cook top list
BTW, WCs based off AVP Next wins?

there are some bad seeded teams in the q that are going to make it fun. A bunch of old main draw players showed up for this one.

Don't have much faith in Lorenz/Chaim. I think Lorenz's game is so one dimensional.
Cook and Olson might be an interesting team. Great to see all the teams back in a loaded field.
Andy McGuire, Aaron Wachtfogel sighting.
105 team qualifier? wtf.

There's a reason Zaun picked him up, if they'd have won a point here or there, might still be balling together.

There's also a reason Zaun dumped him, like immediately after.
Lorenz is an exceptional blocker for his height, but he does struggle with more rangy players so that will never be a go to skill for him against just anyone. He's an average at best sideout player, which is a problem when you're supposed to be the "big" for the team. He's a good player that has a place in the AVP world, but IMO he is never going to be among the upper echelon of blockers, let alone players. His best win this year was a queaker against the Bomgrens, who have struggled this year. He does have a good partner matchup with Chaim so we will see what happens.

Fair enough analysis but Zaun panicked, they should have beaten Ed/Reid, they win that, could still could be playing.

Just saw Delsol/Mesko way, way, way down there. They get through this, I'll give them some credit; tough, tough qualifier. Good luck Travis too, nasty.

I wouldn't be completely shocked if they didn't qualify. Mesko isn't close to avp ability, and del sol would have to play with a legitimate big to have any kind of success. They had better hope they don't get stuck in olson/cook pod.
