Given there is no FIVB left, Im a little surprised Chaim couldn't do better than Lorenz.

Don't have much faith in Lorenz/Chaim. I think Lorenz's game is so one dimensional. Cook and Olson might be an interesting team. Great to see all the teams back in a loaded field. Andy McGuire, Aaron Wachtfogel sighting. 105 team qualifier? wtf. I too like OLson and Cook, says something when Olson had more points and picked him up.

Granted, they had an insane run in Hermosa but I'd say their chances of a repeat are slim & none. Slim maybe but lets not forget that only the new scoring rule kept them from beating Brunsting/Samuels. if the AVP were going to pass out WCs the way they did here, I think the Partains would have made an excellent recipient, people want to see them. I would say they didn't just pass out these WCs, they were earned. The Bros could have earned one.

It must be a tough pill for a player like Brunsting not to get in though

Given there is no FIVB left, Im a little surprised Chaim couldn't do better than Lorenz. Lorenz pretty much the only blocker available aside from Toppel, and no one is picking Toppel over Lorenz even after that Hermosa showing. Like I posted weeks ago, Cook is going to be the guy everyone guns for this off-season.

Each region has a series of tournaments, the carrot at the end of the stick being a bid into Manhattan. The team that has the most points from the series of regional tournaments gets the wild card bid from their region.

On a side note, team with ladies flocking to see them, Olson & Cook, couple of GQ dudes, if only they had old-school personalities to accompany the look.

We will have to break down the Q into 8 different brackets, not 4.. Too much math, lol..

Remember watching a qualifier once, just for giggles. Got caught up in the ending. Must have been 2009 or 2010.
Don't remember their names though..

So, Clemens/Vaught are getting in their 4th AVP this season. Does anyone have any input on these young guys?? Clemens is a 6'7 23 y.o., that has to be good?? Know less about the 20 yo Vaught.

I saw them play earlier this year, if one of them was 6'7 it really didnt seem like it. I think Austin maybe, the first event they qualified. One of them has a weird hitchy swing but once Gibb/Taylor figured it out the win was comfortable though not a blowout. I thought one of them was much older though

I thought one of them was much older though Clemens played at Harvard and goes 6'5" or so, decent blocker, can get in a groove. Vaught is a Huntington local with that funky game, lefty, streaky too. Low ceiling team that can give you some troubles but quality teams handle pretty easily.

Of the top 8 seeds in the Men's Q, I see the bottom 6 as all being vulnerable to upsets. David McKienzie/Ian Satterfield Raffe Paulis/Spencer Sauter Daniel Buehring/Matt McCarthy Kyle Friend/Myles Muagututia Jake Rosener/Garrett Wessberg Ric Cervantes/Mike Stewart
While all these teams are good, none scream MD lock. There are a ton of teams who can get 1 match off of these teams.

Also have to mention.
Toppel was the winner of partner shake ups, landing Loomis should do him well. After getting a 5th with Tim, expectations??
