Of the top 8 seeds in the Men's Q, I see the bottom 6 as all being vulnerable to upsets. David McKienzie/Ian Satterfield Raffe Paulis/Spencer Sauter Daniel Buehring/Matt McCarthy Kyle Friend/Myles Muagututia Jake Rosener/Garrett Wessberg Ric Cervantes/Mike Stewart While all these teams are good, none scream MD lock. There are a ton of teams who can get 1 match off of these teams. Just to add, I think the top 22-24 teams still get 1st round byes. So if you don't play that 1st round, you only need 3 wins to get in.

9th, too many landmines, imo.. They'll have to get some luck, but in a full tournament, 9th isn't bad. If it holds to seed, they should be playing Ed and Zaun to get to the 5th place matches in the contenders.

Also have to mention. Toppel was the winner of partner shake ups, landing Loomis should do him well. After getting a 5th with Tim, expectations?? Curt doesn't get much respect here, but he is pretty solid. Someone compared him unfavorably to Lorenz, but I think they are about the same level. He isn't the most mobile guy but he affects a lot of hitters and can pull a surprise now and then. probably a 9th, but anywhere from 3rd to 13th depending on the draw. Loomis has very quietly dragged some guys to great finishes the past few years (Lorenz among them)

It's really hard for me to see any upsets of the top 7 teams until they start playing against each other. Ed and Eric at #8 start the shake-y ness for me.

I'd still rather be playing with Lorenz than Toppel but Marty is going to grab Chaim all day if opportunity presents/presented itself. Top teams going to get after it big time, John/Jeremy weakest of that lot by a lot. Should be best tourney this year for certain.

Really interesting how the international influx this year has given US players a chance to get partners higher than the level they otherwise could. Would have loved to see Trevor try to pick up Chaim or Ricardo

So, I did a little head to head chart with the top 6 teams. Here are their records against each other. Read it as rows.
………….................... Phil/Nick... Crabb/Gibb... Crabb/Rosie... Brunner/Patterson... Doherty/Hyden... Allen/Slick... win... Loss Phil/Nick .....................................1-0 ...........3-1 ...................4-0 ........................3-0 ......................1-0 ......12.... 1 Crabb/Gibb .................0-1......................... 2-0............. .........1-0...................... 1-2................... 2-1...........6.... 4 Crabb/Rosie ................1-3........0-2................................... .....2-1..................... 1-1.................. 1-4.............5.... 11 Brunner/Patterson .......0-4....... 0-1............. 1-2 ............................................... 1-1 ..................1-1............. 3.... 9 Doherty/Hyden........... 0-3 .......2-1 .............1-1................. ....1-1.............................................. 1-1 ............5.... 7 Allen/Slick ..................0-1 ......1-2............. 4-1..................... 1-1 .....................1-1..................................... 7.... 6
Basically, Phil and Nick were dominant, the next best record was Allen/Slick vs. Crabb/Rosie, 4-1 the others were all pretty even.

This has been a terrible year for Chaim so maybe I agree, but for the last two he has been much better than Sean.

Could just be having that down year after Olympics/getting married.

That's probably the only reason how they got the wildcard over Samx2 who had top 10 finishes the entire season.
