I'd argue Taylor is definitely at Stevenson's level.

I'd argue Taylor is definitely at Stevenson's level. Stevenson was part of the best or second best team in the world one year and was the 4th or 5th best defender in the world for a decent period of time. Taylor has potential but not a top 10 defender yet

I would argue that just about everyone outside of California and Brazil wasn't doing much with beach vb back in the 80's. I loved watching Stevenson but the game was nowhere near as deep or developed as it is now.

Taylor Crabb is 25, has already had 2 seasons where he's been on the 2nd best team on the AVP, and is already US's best defender. Kid has a phenomenal future for USA.

The event will be testing a new rule: allowing three touches after a block touch, so four touches in total by a team. F'n dumb. Has the FIVB rules committee ever played Beach Volleyball at any level? Crazy! Isn't Sinjin now on the FIVB rules committee? (or was?) if so, why isn't he fixing some of this stuff?!?

Zaun/Slick don't appear on schedule. It'll be a horrendous crime if Burik/Billy took their spots from junk points. That team has no business over there.

Slick and Zaun were in the qualifier, but had a bye so they will be in the draw. Billy and Mark have all kinds of points from NORCECA events and Zaun has none so they were only using the points Slick has earned. And let's be honest, Slick has been less than stellar outside of the "world class" AVP.

Dude, do a little bit of research, unless you are trying to start another one of your narrow minded, biased rants Slick has much better results than Billy and is in a different class as a player. He made the finals in almost half the events he played this year, Billy has not made a final in his career. I'm also the biggest Mark fan there is. As a Mason guy, I will always root for him, but he had an awful year and has played very poorly. In six events he won six matches. He had two wins all year over non-qualifiers. Right now Eric is in a different class than Mark. I wouldn't have phrased it so harshly, but Slick/Zaun are definitely on a different level than Mark/Billy

Two seasons on the second best AVP team? Last year four different teams won (two teams won twice) Taylor was not on any of those teams.

Round of 32 for the two USA men’s teams as followed:
2:20AM EST— Eric Zaun/Stafford Slick vs. Youssef Krou/Quincy Aye (France) 12:40AM EST— Mark Burik/Bill Kolinske vs. Dries Koekelkoren/Tom van Walle (Belgium)
Don’t understand how Burik and Kolinske became the 32nd seed while Seed #27, a Japanese team has 0 points. As Mark and Bill are seeded last, they have to play the #1 seed and it’s single elimination brackets. Yikes!!

Great question, because they were seeded 17 earlier today and Zaun/Slick were 23

Slick/Zaun light years more talented than that other team. Billy is a solid journeyman-level blocker, Burik under that level. Wish it were Miles as he has potential to be pretty darn solid with his size. Very much like Zaun.
