Looks like Chicago Bounce 16 Red is starting to play in the 16s division now, the first two weeks, they played in the 18s Division. Week 1 they went 4-2 only losing to Chicago Bounce 18 Red and Pipeline 17-1, and Week 2 they went 3-3, losing to Hitmen 18 Elite in 3, SPVB 18-4 and Club 1 17-1 in 3. Should be interesting to see how they transition from 18s to 16s.

Injured? Ill bet they play against bounce 18 everday and had some level of success. Not a longterm decision but there may have been value to play other 17/18 early short term....

Bounce is probably becoming the next big northern suburb club. Adversity only has 2 16s teams I think and a 14s team, Bounce has 2 16s, 3 15s, 4 14s. People get sick of paying all the money from Adversity in my opinion. This is coming from someone who lives in the area too. Their top/red 14-16 teams are usually pretty good. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them take off this year. Granted Adversity’s 18 Purple is good this year, not sure how they will do the moving forward

Palos Poinst Series #3 Day 1: 1. Hitmen 16 Elite 2. Chicago 16 Red 3. Uno 16 Elite 4. Ultimate 16 Gold 5. SPVB 16 Elite Day 2: 1. Hitmen 16 Elite 2. Chicago 16 Red 3. Uno 16 Elite 4. SPVB 16 Elite 5. Ultimate 16 Gold Link www.advancedeventsystems.com/EventResults/(S(kj4msq55tbsrfxetmecdx4rp))/PlayResults.aspx?e=PTAwMDAwMTMzMDU90&p=-50018Hitmen played very impressively and beat out Bounce, who had been playing in the 18s PPS, on both days, despite Hitmen being short of a few players (An outside and right side were on the bench injured both days, their number 1 middle was absent day 1 but played day 2). Bounce looked good most of both days, but allowed for teams to hang around for too long and eventually got beat by a good squad that runs deep. Uno played strong but ultimately came up a little short against both the championship contenders this weekend. SPVB was quite inconsistent and relied very heavily on hard, rather than smart shots. Ultimate looked out of sorts all weekend long and not like the championship contending team they were at PPS but injuries that I'm not aware of May play a part in this. One weekend remains and Hitmen sits in first with a moderately sized lead due to the arrival of Bounce to the 16s tourney.

That being said, looks like Uno will be traveling to the Florida bid tournament. Take them out of the equation for the final weekend of PPS in February.

Very true, which would leave the competition mostly between SPVB, Ultimate, and Hitmen in reverse order of lead.

Is there a site that has the year to date PPS standings? I can see the individual PPS #1 - 2 and 3 results but cant seem to find anything with YTD standings.

Congrats to Hitmen for winning the overall point series, and Ultimate for taking second! I know one of the Hitmen players recently returned from an injury, but it looks like both teams dropped matches this weekend and were not overly dominating.

I have watched boys youth volleyball for last 20 years and never seen a 16 y old teams playing up at 18 level that is actually capable of competing there... I do understand if that team is physically capable of playing up but being an average size team ,I am wondering ,why the risk of getting players injured ?? Hope it doesn’t start a stupid tradition in Midwest area that some mediocre teams who have not achieved anything in national level will do publicity stunts like that...wonder what that team’s parents think... Well you see Ultimate 16 Gold did last year and beat Hitmen 18 Elite as well as going to 3 with SPRI Mizuno. They took second in the tournament beating out their own 18s and 17s teams. 20 years of youth volleyball? Really? This happened last year. Not to mention Balboa has been doing it for years now.

I don’t understand why Bounce 16 Red played in the 18’s Palos if they weren’t even going to be capable of finishing in the Top 20 at the Chicago bid tournament.
I mean seriously, what happened there? Bad weekend? Missing players? Parents considered leaving if the team wasn’t going to be challenged enough so the club comprised by putting them in 18’s PPS to overcompensate?

Oh I think just a bad weekend. They are one of the Top 16s in the Great Lakes.
