Looking at the schedule it looks like 3-4 big events between Jan-Mar, depending on how you see three star events. Will the older players like Jake Gibb consider taking these off, or will the season just get a whole lot longer? Is there now a critical mass of events that makes doing all the serious pre-season prep work in December-January worthwhile?
I'd especially love to hear from anyone in the know. I am thinking of going to a few of the international events, but dont want to show up and find players in the same mode April was in that event she played in with Sara

You looking at the Netherlands events?? It's going to be cold!
I'm planning on going to the Ft. Lauderdale event again. Hotels may get scarce for this.

There are: Holland in Jan Iran in Feb (3 Star) Doha in March Lauderdale in March So maybe just the men might want to start early (I am presuming the MENA events are men only). If there were a dual gender somewhere in there I would definitely go, but with the two men only events it needs to be a pretty great field. I wonder if a Brazil or other SA will get added in somewhere around the same time

I didnt realize she was so old. Hopefully this works out better for her than the Dutch opposite. Of course Larissa is a higher class of player. In theory she should also be an almost ideal partner for someone new to beach. Sheilla wont have to hit any bad sets or generate any points, she just needs to side out. On the other hand, Larissa may not be inclined to do a lot of handholding and it seems unlikely she will have much patience for Sheilla learning the beach game.

Looks like the full 2018 FIVB schedule is out. Includes an early May Huntington Beach 4 star event. No Long Beach. Seems like a lot of Asian stops this year. 1 in Brazil, 2 in the US, no others in South, Central or North America.

A lot more 3, 4, and 5 star events!!
