So does cheryl do the horse and pony show this weekend trying to talk to everyone and either feel out the room or try to make it seem like everything is ok? I can see tomorrow either being business as usual or getting real hostile and awkward quickly if rick is walking around like normal. Cheryl is always the mouthpiece. I had a “situation” concerning my athlete and spoke to RB about it. Voices were raised by both parties (myself and RB) and guess who immediately popped in? Cheryl. Look who published “their story” online, who responded to the reporter’s question during the “interview” in FL at AAU’s...the man is obviously able to speak for himself but is she afraid that he will let something out? I guess we will see soon enough.

I will certainly report back tomorrow morning and let you guys know what the situation looks like at GLC. I expect RB will be hiding, but who knows.
I should set up a gofundme page on here to see how much money I can gather to record myself walking up to Cheryl and asking her for the password to her stupid website.
I'd still like to know how the whole situation is supposed to work with RB as far as JVA/AAU insurance. How can he even be in a gym with kids practicing if he doesn't have insurance through them? I know some people in here were questioning them removing him from coaching his team from Power League since he wasn't banned before it began, but he has been taken off that roster as well. I expect he cannot coach at all unless he starts running unsanctioned tournaments somehow (no idea how that'd work)

Also JVA posted this about an hour ago on facebook; "There have been some questions circulated this past week about the JVA. We would like to share a clear picture of who we are, what we are and why we are. We give credit to our member clubs who are truly the driving force behind the JVA. Here's a look at the faces of the JVA and why our organization is important for the growth of our sport. www.jvaonline.org/blog/jva-office-what-is-your-why " What you are is an organization that literally harbored a man accused of multiple child rapes with no action until you were left with literally no other choice other than absolute scrutiny. You are in fact good for volleyball but unfortunately most people outside of the midwest do not see the allure to join yet and now you have the mounting association with probably the least popular person in juniors volleyball. I clicked on it expecting to see a video of Jenny addressing the elephant in the room and promoting this weekends events and giving numbers for the size of the tourneys they were hosting, or their projected growth or plans going forward. This is a nothing post with just some stats that you would have found on their website otherwise, kind of disappointing how they are handling this situation when they all still have jobs to do and paychecks to collect for their lives/families whether they include rick in their future plans or not. It's textbook reaction from an organization/business/corporate entity that prefers to hide its' head in the sand rather than answer directly. Partly because of the complicated nature of the situation and the history of the formation of the JVA (at least to my understanding) and partly because businesses FAIL to understand the failures of other businesses and learn their lessons via osmosis rather than experience. Having said that it's typical and understandable to not answer the elephant in the room, human nature to make it go away. Do you remember the scandal with Hugh Grant and the hooker Divine Brown back in the mid 90's? He was cheating on Elizabeth Hurley, they seemingly had a flawless relationship and then was caught up in the seediness of that sex scandal? Do you remember how he endeared himself to the American public again? He went on The Tonight Show and straight up said "I did it" and seemed remorseful within the week or two after the Divine Brown scandal made headlines. (Those were such a better time, IMO, this would now be a blip on the radar of a bunch of awful behavior by celebrities and barely be noticed in today's context). In an opposite example just look back in the past several years and look at the mess Malaysia Airlines made with the disappearance of Flight MH370. Chinese media was critical of the airlines for waiting 13 hours contact was lost with the plane to hold the initial press conference. Relatives of victims were dismayed by the lack of communication between them and MA. When MA finally communicated that they should "assume beyond doubt" no one survived, it was via text message. I understand the HG and MA stories are different but are they really? HG may be a person but he had a lucrative career up until Divine Brown and people loved him and Hurley together, they seemed to have a picture beautiful relationship. Ihave always wondered why more admission of guilt doesn't take place rather than the head in the sand mode that celebrities, businesses, etc. get themselves buried in. An admission of wrong doing often diffuses the bomb of melodrama that surrounds scandals. Having said that this RB situation is a mess, has been and always will be. Too much time has passed & there's no way for the players to dig themselves out and look good. Save

Obvious difference is that what HG was stupid, what RB did was criminal.

It took me awhile to figure out what "HG" (a person) and "MA" (a corporation) were.

Obvious difference is that what HG was stupid, what RB did was criminal. Wasn't comparing the two. If you read correctly the topic was about JVA's vague response. Also I used HG as an illustration of how ownership of wrongdoing can help public perception. I never utilized HG to compare RB nor was that my intention.

Neither Hugh Grant nor Malaysian Airlines has anything remotely to do with Rick Butler and his hideous crimes against his young female players. No need to deflect. I am not a fan of red herring—literal or figurative. Let’s stick to ridding ourselves of this terrible blight on our beloved sport. Thanks!

How did I not see that as I was illustrating a point about PR mishaps in the name of saving face & reputation and not illustrating anything about Rick Butler.

Has anyone heard of a letter that supposedly went out to all the Chicagoland Club Directors telling them to disaccociate themselves fro RB? I heard that Nancy Hodshead-Maker sent it out.
