Congrats to Rettke for finishing the regular season #1 in hitting percentage, #1 in blocks and #6 in kills across all matches among big ten athletes.
In conference play, she was #2 in hitting percentage, #5 in kills and #1 in blocks. She finished with 296 kills, hitting .439 and 1.41 blocks per set in conference action. In fact, no player in the top 12 of hitting % in conference had over 200 kills. Dana's performance given her usage rate is really astounding. In most years, she'd be a LOCK for conference POY. Unfortunately, SSS and/or Poulter also had outstanding campaigns and their teams finished higher in the standings, so one of them will likely get it.
Also, congrats to Hilley who led both conference and all matches in assists/set.
FYI - Ashlyn Fleming took the HP title in conference @.452, but had over 167 fewer kills. Fleming would have been #2 for all matches, but didn't have enough attempts in the non-conference season for her rate to count.

That time of year, Badger Faithful. Believe! And believe that one day we’ll have someone like Courtney Thomas to take second ball! +10000 for Courtney Thomas.

I saw your torn allegiances on camera. 😕😉 of course you did. Thing is...there were only about 500 people in the whole gym so picking out those I knew wasn't that tough. I know....bay area traffic. Blah, blah, blah.

Tionna Williams was not chosen for the All-B1G teams. I hope she proves that to be a questionable error in the next 5-6 matches!

Scott Mattera, the former coach of Concordia University Nebraska, is spending the season traveling the country to learn from some of the best coaches in the business and blogging about it for PrepVolleyball. He spent a few days with Sheff & Co. in Madison back at the beginning of the conference season, and just published the write-up today. prepvolleyball.com/articles/club-articles/scott-free-a-badger-honor/413683
