Wow this thread really went into the garbage. As usual, threads on VT aren’t moderated. I am really getting tired of this s***. You people act like as*holes and you blame the moderation?? I can verify that in fact all threads are moderated, including Off the Net and Political Ramblings. The mods don't like to get involved, but rather hope we can be mature enough to have meaningful conversations. When we don't, mods get called out for not moderating it, like here, and it's frustrating. I know this because I've had many 'principal office' messages with a mod, have been suspended and had this explained, and seem to have a permanent warning level, which actually keeps me from making certain jokes for fear I'll receive an IP ban.

Goodness. It's entirely possible that Zelon had a completely different experience on the team than did other players. Ogbogu's experience (for example) doesn't invalidate Zelon's, and Zelon's doesn't invalidate Ogbogu's. I think that on reflection, in a few years, Zelon may regret speaking out on her experience on social media, but none of us were masters of internet discretion - or any kind of discretion - at 19.
I'm sure Texas will reload. I look forward to seeing how their lineup shapes out going into their trip to Wisconsin.

If the consensus is to lock the thread, that can be done. i joined in august. if this thread is considered normal, then so be it. if not, then we can start another one for us Texas fans. but, based on my limited experience, that too will be overrun by people looking to kick a program when it's down.

For now, I am going to put an anchor on it, which means it will fall from page 1 even if people post to it. I suggest someone start a new thread and link this one to it (if you want).
I can remove the anchor if this turns out to be a bad idea.

If the consensus is to lock the thread, that can be done. This thread had been quite good until recent. Someone will start a new Texas 2018 thread if this one locks. The news of Lexi transferring really upped the interest in this one, which is when it went off the rails.

Now my feelings are hurt! I’ve never been called to the principals office!

Moderators cannot possibly read every thread or every post made. People need to report posts if there is a problem. That is why I am here right now.
If someone would like to hire me to moderate this thing full-time, I might consider it. I probably wouldn't do it anyhow -- because insanity -- but I might consider it.

I don't know if you are serious, but it can only fall as far as the top of all the other threads people are not posting to. That's as clear as mud. Let's see if I can do better. It doesn't fall so much as other threads move UP. New threads go to the top. Threads people post to go to the top. This thread will fall below those. Sticky threads, of course, are at the very top.

What this means is this thread will still be accessible, if you look for it. If I move it to our special place for awful threads, it will only be accessible to mods. If I delete it, well it's deleted. Gone. Poof.
Seems like this is the course to take. For now.

I can change font colors. That's one of my three tools.

Wow this thread really went into the garbage. As usual, threads on VT aren’t moderated. It was in the garbage the minute it was created. Go to page 1. First 3 or 4 replies were cheap shots buy USC and Nebraska fans. If someone wants to consider starting a new "Texas Volleyball 2018" thread so this one can die its gradual death, perhaps that is a good approach. It won't keep all the trolls away as they are obsessed with Texas, but it's worth a shot. Will you go back to using "southie" on the new one?
