Newsome to USC. They are looking for someone to run the show with Reni Whalley graduating and Marino not the ideal candidate to run a 5-1. Lanier will be active in recruiting her facilitator. Intra-conference. She’d have to sit a year. She does have a redshirt year to burn but I think that would put a damper on your hopes. Can she redshirt again if she used a redshirt this year? That would be 6 years of college.

Jerrit is not interested. Top 10 or bust, who cares if they can actually play the game tho. Even on Christmas Eve, you are still a total jerk.

DeLuzio didn’t come out of nowhere. For anybody that watched this class progress through Club she was outstanding and maybe the best all around player in the class. Played multiple positions at a high level on one of the Top 5 Club teams. Don’t believe all those regurgitation lists from lazy recruiting done when kids where 14. This kid was a Top 25 player! With all due respect, I'm going to have to call BS on this one. No one was out there predicting this kid was going to do what she did - she was a good libero on a great team at 17s - when the senior aces were made - and filled in at setter on an 18s team this year and did well. None of that points to running a 5-1 on a Sweet 16 team as a freshman and her ability and improvement over the season was key to CU's run. Her name didn't even appear on this board till mid-August, despite quite a few eyes on Top Select (including you, posting quite a bit about that team and SEC-land club ball - don't you wish you could have said you called it?) She definitely did better than even I thought. But I was a big fan of that team primarily because of her and Samedy. I thought she would be a stud at colo but more In the Savi Simo mold. My point (which is exaggerated for effect) was that these regurgitation list from 14’s are silly and they are perpetuated because the same people that recruited the 14 year olds vote on the Senior Aces list and they need to make sure their bosses know they got the right 14 year old. The Top 20 is Usually sound. The next 80 are about 50/50 on the two classes I knew intimately. You factor that in and that Colo needed a freshman to step up at setter...well it’s not BS...it would have been most people’s guess that had watched this class at 17’s and 18’s.

She is a good player and I was hoping they would figure out a way to use her but I could not see running a 6-2 cause I don’t think CU can afford to take Deluzio off the floor. Also thought about a 5-2 like Florida for the size up front but then again Deluzio comes out. Only option I saw really was moving Deluzio to libero but was not sure that would be a good idea either plus Gabby continues to get better and better. Well good luck to her wherever she ends up. Some school is getting a 6 ft, top 40 recruit with 4 years of eligibility, with one year of college volleyball under her belt. Not Bad... 5'9,...according to her bio. If, she has the grades and likes playing in a gorgeous environment, contact coach Crosson at CAL POLY.

The 6 ft., top 40 player volleyball303 is referring to is the transferring setter, Jaden Newsome. The player who is 5'9" is Brynna DeLuzio. She is, as far as we know, staying put at Colorado.

Wondering why she is waiting until summer to make the move to Missouri? Is there some sort of NCAA rule requiring a student-athlete to stay at their current school for their full freshman year?

No I am pretty sure Smith came to CU during the spring. Maybe it’s a credit thing. I don’t think it’s a dislike for CU. Maybe it’s playing the same position as an all American HM and being the same age. CU is a great fun school.
