Have heard nothing lately. As it is a 3rd year of having a National Championship I had heard that the bids for the 2018 championship would be decided by winning in your conference and extra spaces filled by voting. If this is not the case, why? Did teams or conferences drop out to not make the required #'s for the change? Kind of hoping I have heard this wrong and it will be decided on first winning your conference but I see no info on Any sites.

Has anything been officially announced on this? Volleyballmag.com is doing conference previews this year so there is more emphasis on the conferences in preseason coverage.

It looks like it will stay the same with 3 teams from each region and 2 at large and conference champions will not be an automatic entry. From the NCAA site: "Selection Process The 2018 Beach Volleyball Championship provides for a field of eight teams to compete in a double elimination tournament. The NCAA Women's Beach Volleyball Committee will conduct team selections, selecting the top three teams from the East Region and the top three teams from the West Region. The remaining two teams will be selected at-large from across the country by the NCAA Women's Beach Volleyball Committee." www.ncaa.com/championships/beach-volleyball/nc/road-to-the-championship
